Wow Perk says Denver is legit as they become first team this season to make conference finals

riveting take from the resident media (Please Use More Appropriate Word)

Are you OK? Like you found a tweet by perk. Do we need to call officials to avoid sucide or something? I'm legit concerned about your mental health that you have twitter and/or know about this!

This is an unpopular opinion, but statistically I don’t see an argument for anyone else but Jokic as the best player. IMO he’s not just the best player, but the clear cut best player. Raw stats, efficiency, advanced, he truly has it all.

Yeah, it’s nice that Embiid’s a better rim protector, but what else? Even if the gap there is huge, can it really make up for literally everything else? Obviously not. But voter fatigue is a real thing. Jokic isn’t the first and won’t be the last to lose a major award (that he clearly cares very little about) to said fatigue.

I'm sure he will put an alarm on his phone to remind himself to give a **** about the MVP and Kendrick Perkins

This year... in the 3 playoff losses:

40mpg, 42.0 ppg (fg% 61.3, 3p% 57.1), 10.7reb(3.0 oreb), 11.3 ast, ts% 70.4, usg% 37.4

Maybe someone is surprised why Mark Jackson doesn't coach... I'm surprised he's a commentator

but what are we talking about...

Jokic this year with a decent and healthy team is on a mission.

I don't understand how this dude is on ESPN. No brain, nothing special about his analysis, and also he creates fake narratives to support his speech (with racist connotations). Mediocre player, and mediocre analyst.

I think he needs to create controversy to hold on to his position as an analyst, because on his own, he's not capable.

He's a vehicle/loudspeaker for Klutch propaganda and the NBA hype machine. Anybody with a little more intelligence and dignity than Perk won't lower themselves to do this court jester role

It is a crime that someone like Perkins is on television as an analyst. Jokic is just a more impactful and thus better basketball player then Embiid. He just makes players who play with him better. I do really not understand why he did not win MVP.

He’s right at home on ESPN. They’ll probably promote him, give him his own show. ESPN is the worst thing that has happened to pro sports in the last decade.

Only funny thing on ESPN is the Hoop Collective podcast. Not because of basketball reasons but because every show is the same.

All of that is exactly why he is on ESPN...

Joe L choked, disappeared and moped off his home floor without a basket in the last 6 minutes. Jokic efficiently demolished the Suns on their home court.

Every additional playoff game these two guys play makes it more and more clear how fraudulent Joe L’s MVP is this year, and how big the gap is between him and Jokic.

I don't think it's that unpopular. If pooled I believe more than 50% would agree with you. His only real competition is Giannis.

Jokić always played better in playoffs than RS and was in Conference Finals before but get the blame for being swept without Murray and losing to the Warriors with scrub roster. Embiid who plays worse in the playoffs and has never been in the Conference Finals doesn't get a blame. Will Embiid finally get a blame if the 76ers lose Game 7?

Also, Jokic will end up having the highest series Game Score of the three. That's an efficiency metric.

Jokic just had one of the greatest postseason series of all time.
There's been speculation about "do Jokic's great advanced stats translate into wins, especially in the playoffs?"

Yes, they do. The data is accurate.

All Time Leaders (since 1983-1984 when it began being tracked):

Finals highest Game Score: Giannis 31.6 (21')

Conference Finals Game Score: LeBron 29.3 (09')

Conference Semi Finals: Jordan 35.4 (90'), Jokic 33.0 (23')

First Round: Hakeem and Jordan (both 1988): 34.2, 34.0

Overall (Min 10 games played), all postseason rounds and all year:

Lebron 29.9 (2009)
Jordan 29.0 (1990)
Jokic 29.0 (2023)
Lebron 28.3 (2018)
Lebron 28.2 (2017)

Jokic 34.5/13.2/10.3 is only the third playoff series in history where a player averaged a triple double.

Jokic's has been the most dominant of those three, and his team won fairly easily despite being underdogs going in.

if Embiid doesn't win game 7 - "Joe L" just might stick haha
personally i think the 76ers have a good shot, Boston hasn't been impressive at home and imo the 76ers are a better team
at least from a talent perspective

1 game, anything can happen
and they get to play a pretty weak conf finalist (Miami or NY aren't at the usual conf finals level)
so it's far from over for them, if they win game 7 I think they have a decent shot at a ring

it'll be the most important game of his career, let's see what he's made of
