Biid has no excuse this year...he deserves any slander that comes his way if he doesn't perform in game 7. Needs to have an all time performance like Steph did against the Kings. He has been great defensively but MVPs carry in these spots...he wants the glory then he needs to show up.

He has been too passive at times lately. Too soft on his drives tonight which lead to turnovers. Rob and Horford were in foul trouble and he never attacked.

This has to be his playoff moment. Win or lose...he needs 40 next game IMO.

Your right.
He needs a signature game and G7 is the one.
Harden did it twice this series. Biid needs to have a 40 -50 pts game and bring us home. We need it.
His FG% in the post season is what worries me. Joker has been a machine with much high FG % and 3pt%.

I know I mostly get ignored, but I'm begging THIS FORUM to undertand this...

As long as we compare Embiid to Jokic, we can't win

The joker is playing against bad defensive team as well .

3 out of 4 pages so far in this thread, posts are about wether Doc Rivers is the coach next season or not (oh and I saw Josh Harris's name too). What is wrong with you people??
We have a generational game in front of us on Sunday. How about one of you candidates to buy the team and coach it next season.

James Harden can't be getting outplayed by Marcus Smart either.

Two biggest factors this whole series:

1. Which James Harden shows up
2. How hot the Celtics get from 3
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I'm not worried based on what I saw yesterday, we missed easy shots and Celtics got hot. We need to have faith in our team.

I'll take any time that ensures that Jones and Burke aren't doing the game. I had it on mute for half the game because Burke's pompous lecturing was impossible to sit through.

To me, it's very simple - if the Sixers are going to allow open 3's to guys like Smart, Brogdon and White, they're going to lose. The Celtics have nothing if the drive and kick game is removed. Stay home on defense and make them settle for tough 2's - that limits those big 13-0 type runs, and it takes them out of what they want to do.

1.) take care of the ball
2.) making open shots or shots at our hot zones.
3.) giving effort on defense to rotate, rebound and help

These 3 mostly in our control

The Sixers have more road wins them home wins in this series. 1 home win and 2 road wins. Boston has lost 3 home games so far in the playoffs.

The pressure is now solely on the Celtics. Go out there play free on offense and hard on defense. I am really confident they can get it done.

How are we stopping drive and kick when they play 5out with Horford? I did notice at least once when Rob Williams was in the game and Embiid was next to him out at the 3pt line. That was a positional mistake. Ignoring him away from the rim and stopping the 3 pt shots should be a recipe for winning his minutes handily. But stopping the 5out will be tough.

I don't disagree, but there's no reason on earth why Brown, White, or Brogdon should ever have wide open, uncontested 3's the way they did much of last night. Quite frankly, I'll live with Horford taking 3's over any of those guys. You have to pick your poison, but I'd far prefer Brown or Tatum finishing at the rim to them being doubled and kicking to a wide open Brogdon for a 3.

The 4th quarter? How about the entire game. Everyone is wide open when it's not an Embiid scoring possession. The entire Celtics team is focusing all their attention on him. We should have played Niang 25+ minutes. He was showing up on defense and could actually hit threes consistently. It's easy for me to say in hindsight, but that seems obvious now. Our defense was completely locked in overall, it was worth the gamble.

Doc needs to make an adjustment to the Celtics big lineups. I'd start Niang or McDaniels over PJ. Also, less Tobias and try Reed with Embiid.

Remember one thing - No matter what happens, at least we got under the luxury tax.
