Honest to god, some fans are still waiting for Wade to develop his 3 point shot. Some guys simply can't do it. Accept it and build around what guys can do.

Bam will never be a legit 3 point shooter. He'll never shoot enough of them to make matter, and he's very likely just not capable enough from that range.
thats ok - he might not have to be a 3 point shooter.
He needs a Kevin Love (ideally 2012 kevin Love, not this current version) to help him with spacing and rebounding.
I believe Jovic could be a great fit next to Bam next year. A big with a natural 3 point shot, so Bam can focus on working inside and from the midrange.

Why do we even watch this ****?
Foster is known to rig games. NBA is implicit.
If officiating makes us lose tonight, I am done watching the NBA and will replace it with a new sport.

If Brook Lopez can become a 3pt shooter pretty much anyone with a decent shot can with enough hard work. He didn't put up more than 14 3s in a season until he was 28 then all of a sudden, he puts up 387 of them and made nearly 35% of them. Lots of players in the 20-teens got much better shooting 3s as Technolgy got better.
Spoiler:
Noah Basketball is now used by 26 out of the 30 NBA teams, making Noah Basketball one of the first sports technology companies to reach this level of penetration within the NBA.
The Noah Shooting System, installed in NBA practice facilities across the country, tracks all shots taken in the practice gyms, measuring key shooting metrics such as shot arc, left/right position and depth. The system also provides instant verbal feedback to help players develop muscle memory for the perfect shot. With sensors mounted above the hoop, the Noah Shooting System captures the position of the ball 30 times per second and analyzes the flight path, allowing players to pinpoint how to increase their shooting percentages. Data is shared through Noah Basketball’s user-friendly cloud-based platform, Noahlytics, where it can be filtered by shot length, shot type, player name, court placement, makes and misses, etc. This data, in combination with reports that integrate with the Noahlytics unique grading system, provide a tangible diagnosis for what a player needs to do to improve their shooting.
https://www.noahbasketball.com/
It does seem Miami has or will have this system soon.
Carter, 57, said Noah’s premium system that includes auto-shooter facial recognition tagging has an upfront installation fee of $10,000 per hoop, with most NBA teams equipping four to six hoops in their practice facility. Noah’s main revenue source is from its data storage plans that run up to thousands of dollars per month for NBA teams and as low as $100 per month for the company’s high school basketball clients. NBA teams to install Noah include the Warriors, Clippers, Suns, Trail Blazers, Jazz, Mavericks, Bucks, Cavaliers, Heat, Knicks, and Raptors.

I personally wouldn’t rule out a 25 year old player that had added to and developed his game every season of his career adding a 3 point shot when it’s very clearly a point of emphasis for him and the team based on comments and the fact he’s working on them in the summer and every pregame

Bam can definitely become a 3pt shooter if he puts in the work.
Miami has or is putting in a system to really help shooters. The resources players now have is incredible and it's why 3pt shooting isn't going anywhere and probably will continue to get better than it is now. You just have to be willing to put in the work.

Everyone can't hit free throws at a decent rate. Technology and repetitions can't cure everything.

Not everyone practices free throws a lot. It takes a lot of work to build the muscle memory and some people just don't want or don't have the time to do that.

An NBA player who doesn't have time to practice free throws?
If technology and repetitions could make anyone a shooter, then every team in the NBA should have a half dozen guys hitting 3s like Steph in no time. I won't hold my breath.

Yes they sent Foster again for tonight
If we lose, I dont like our chances on the road game 7 and Jimmy with a bum ankle.

Simmons doesn't put in the work, it's one of the issues Butler had with him.
You seem to think everyone puts in a ton of work on their shooting, nah. You should do some reading about Miami's own Ray Allen and what he did basically every day to keep himself sharp shooting the ball, there's a lot of articles out there from different years.
Putting in the work is how Butler transformed his game in really one summer, he dedicated the whole season to get better as a score and with that his leap from year 3 to year 4 was incredible, but Butler has a great work ethic. I'm sure this is one of the reasons Miami really likes Herro, he seems to have a pretty good work ethic.
Butler and his friends rented a house for the summer so that they could spend time together, but he says he purposefully chose not to furnish it.
“I wanted to be so good at the game that we didn’t have cable, we didn’t have the Internet,” he recalled. “Whenever we got bored, all we would do is go to the gym. We’d eat, sleep and go to the gym. We’d go three times a day because we didn’t have anything else to do. We were sitting on the couch, looking at each other, saying, ‘What the hell are we going to do all day?’”

At the NBA level, nearly everyone has a good work ethic, but not all have great work ethics.

Bams improvement from the free throw line and the mid range coupled with the fact he’s out and emphasis on practicing the 3 ball tells me he’ll eventually have success shooting 3s and it’ll be worked into the offense

Yes, he works on it more here and there, you see that in some of the workouts he does. You can usually notice it when he starts taking them more often. He's spending most of his time on his body and midrange. Early in his Chicago days he was working on his 3 ball mostly to be a 3&D player and was hitting them at a 39% level, then he moved more towards the midrange. DeMar DeRozan has some interviews out there a few years ago about how he adds and works on certain things year after year. It's really interesting listening to players talking about about what they work on and why.
