2022-23 Season Discussion and Speculation 6 - The Playoffs. Playoffs? Playoffs?
Another landing spot for CP3 might be the Lakers. Sign n trade for D Lo is possible, too. I don’t want him but he’s better than what we currently have I guess.
Flex says the Suns can trade CP3 before the team option is picked up, is that true? If so, that’s extremely valuable.

Thoughts on offseason?

I haven't looked it up recently but I recall noticing that when we extended him. We made sure that even if CP3 was done with basketball, we'd still have the option to move him with a salary dump.
Perhaps it's silly to suggest this, but I like the idea of grabbing Westbrook more than Irving. Team needs competitors. Wonder how KD and Russ might feel about a reunion. He'd certainly be cheaper than Kyrie, if he can be convinced.

I'm here for this. At least we know he cares for all of his many warts. Maybe if we get Ty Lue? Russ had a mini Renaissance with the LAC.
I think KD was complimentary of him when they interviewed him so I think he'll be fine with it. Russ would also come cheap-which is key for us nowadays.

You should add more options. I think Lue is a legit possibility. Probably add an option for some random ppl that posters might want

Agreed. More options,. But of those options, Atkinson.
Maybe a combo of Myers and Atkinson

Lue hasn't been let go has he? If he hasn't, I don't think there is a chance that happens.
I can add more but it will reset poll, but will only add those without head coaching jobs.
If Lue isn't gone yet, I doubt he goes anywhere. Teams don't typically hold onto coaches more than a few days after their season is over. Makes no sense. They need to move on if they are going to and get first dibs on other coaches.
There is no way Lue should be blamed for anything with that team.

I don’t think Atkinson is a real option since KD was the reason he was fired.
I Dont wanna be here

Re: 2022-23 Season Discussion and Review - the Blockbuster trade and playoff downfall
I would only want Russ off the bench. I hate the thought having too many old dudes on the team again, especially if they're not shooters. Al Horford + Brogdon work for the Celtics (well, Brogdon isnt that old, but hes slow af) because they are smart and can shoot. I think Westbrook is fools gold for anything more than hustle play, which admittedly is still super valuable.
We will have to reach into the bargain bin though so I guess beggars can't be choosers. Need to go and find a list of FAs and comb it for some salvage projects. As big as Jones was on taking other teams' scrap metal I don't think he was even that good at it. There's probably a couple guys out there who are worth signing but we won't know it until next year when they are decent players for their new teams. So we have to get ahead of the curve here.

Then do what I did with my poll and add an option that says "choice not shown" or something similar.

Kanceryrie was the reason he got fired. Durant never played a single game under Atkinson.

Good point. I think it's dumb to let KD decide since then Nash got hired and he later wanted him gone as well.

I won't go that far but Kyrie is more style to me than substance. The Suns cannot box themselves in with Kyrie with the new CBA - or it would limit them
Plus, if they are going after a max player - Harden as a playmaker seems better than Kyrie.
I didn't want the Durant trade -but they have him. Figure out how to get players that work with he and Booker, not against though he might have a big name.

Re: 2023 Offseason Speculation and Discussion
You have to trade DA and you can’t have CP3 as your main PG anymore. How that works realistically I have no clue. Team is in a very bad spot to say the least how much longer will Book want to deal with this garbage? I agree him ditching the presser is weak AF but his frustration with this situation is probably boiling over. Out of the 4 main pieces 1 is 40 and falling off a cliff and always injured in the playoffs and the other one literally quit on them.

The barometer will be James Jones, if Ishbia keeps him we probably keep Williams and do some adjustments as is Jones style, if Ishbia boots him then it's all on the table for the next GM.
Budenholzer with Irving, Booker, Durant looks good on paper bringing in 3 championship calibre people to fill the 3 most important positions for Booker. But they also have their downsides in reality.

Re: 2022-23 Season Discussion and Review - the Blockbuster trade and playoff downfall
I think the Bulls would definitely S&T Vucevic for Ayton. They are similar players. Vucevic has never had nearly the efficiency but he can kind of shoot 3s and is a better passer. Vuc had by far his most efficient year and Ayton a down year but Ayton's was still higher.
But I imagine Suns fans would welcome this despite Magic and Bulls fans having similar complaints about him over the years.
Maybe they throw in a guard too. Coby White is probalby who they would want to, but he is a RFA, so that would have to be a S&T.

It would take an S&T but Nurkic and Grant for Ayton and Shamet

Yeah, I think with not great packages they would. I saw Hayes, Bagley and Wiseman, all far bigger busts than Ayton (but not given big contracts), Vucevic.
Dallas makes sense if Kyrie would leave anyway. They say he'd be a huge upgrade over Kleber/Powell (and McGee who signed a pretty good sized deal to be starter and quickly was completely out of the rotation).

Re: 2023 Offseason Speculation and Discussion
Here is what we should do
Get rid of Ayton and get Jarret Allen
Ayton (C)
Mobley (PF)
Would be a good front court for Cleveland
Allen is the big we need, hustle, rebounding, defense
We should also add depth. With 3 & D , and off the bench playmaker
It will be hard to trade Cp3 , so not sure if we can
