He's not doing anything he didn't do last year or all season this year different. He was amazing against the warriors last year. They were just that much better of a team.

Nah he’s more dominant, generating even more offence, the guys’s assist % is 44.6 this year, most bball ref advanced stats are way up, turnovers are down, shooting the 3 better, and he came out last night and put Phoenix away in the first q like the killer everyone wanted him to be. He’s clearly better.

Yeah he's looking more aggressive scoring the ball. Granted he was being single covered by stiffs vs phoenix and Denver had a significantly better roster. Phoenix stunk, their roster last night was embarrassing.

The Nuggets would absolutely LOVE having Jokic double teamed. I wonder what their TS% is on wide open 3s or wide open layups - it's gotta be significantly higher than even Jokic's already high TS% in single coverage.

Mark Jackson left him off his MVP ballot. He was All-NBA 2nd team after having a season that was statistically on rivaled by Michael Jordan and LeBron James, the two greatest players ever. Some of us knew the truth, and we stuck to it. The folks who put him 2nd team, didn't vote him MVP tried to get cute. People actually tried to argue that Jokic had an insurmountable weakness in the playoffs, even though he'd been to the conference finals, and overachieved in the playoffs for multiple years when a pair of other MVP contenders *never* did that, and are either already home or preparing to be home. lol I'm petty af, but this is so funny.

So… that’s 1 person who is a well known potato that wrongfully excluded Jokic from the 5 best players in the world.

Who else? OP said “a lot of people”

Nick Wright called him the worst MVP of the last 30 years on national television.

And that other two guys recently put him 10th on their player list, lmao. Max Kellerman and Keyshawn Johnson, right?

These fools are trying to Will it into existence but Jokic gets better after seemingly every critique and stupid take.

Couldn't that all be just a result of better teammates? They can finish a higher percentage of his assists. They are threats so Suns actually tried to single coverage Jokic which wouldn't have happened the last 2 years. Better spacing etc..

Sure having better teammates has helped. But Jokic is improving.

In what way? Last year we were discussing if he is the best passer in the HISTORY of the game. He was a 30 a game scorer. his defense has morphed since he lost the extra extra weight.

I'm not saying he isn't adding little tiny nuances but he was looking like a top 10 all time player last year. He's looking like that this year too.

The only thing that is holding him back from being greatness to the outside world is a championship. He just needs to win one and everyone will finally take notice and maybe put him in the Tim Duncan category of the next big "fundamental ".

that's exactly right
If he wins just one, the discourse coming from pundits, media, fans etc would instantly and dramatically transform

he will become the "face" of the league if he wins one, say this year or the next

Jokic's run this playoffs reminds me of when Dirk demolished everyone on the way to the title.

Steph's defense has always been picked on too.
Was he never the best player in the world?

He was on the best team but was never the clear cut best player.

He was as clear cut as Jokic is now.

Steph was never the clear-cut best player because Lebron was still in his prime at the time.

Jokic haters Perkins and Kellerman concede Jokic may be the best player in basketball.

Starts like 2:20 into the video.

Jokic 31/21/22
Luka & Oscar = 5 x 27/8/8
The Brodie = All-out energy

I'm also from Europe, and had to google him too, even though I watch the NFL. He played American football, but retired a long time ago, so I wasn't really familiar with either.

Ah cool.
Putting former athletes to comment on sports they did not play is not really a great way to get good takes.

 Get the f out of here with that crap. There is nothing wrong with Embiid. He's moving like he was moving all season long, he's playing heavy minutes without any problems. Stop making dumb excuses for him. If he was so hurt he wouldn't be playing. He's missing same shots that he was taking in the regular season. But now he is playing under more pressure, his jump shots are not going in like they were in the regular season. He's melting down again.

Good comparison. Just like right now Jokic is clear cut best offensive player but Giannis is a better complete all around player and with a championship. Thanks for backing up my point.

AD as well but at least AD has a ring…just like with Shaq in 1996, you didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to see the trajectory this guy was on. Kinda sad he won’t get his due in that pantheon until 2046.

I guess its because Lillard has longer career so far, even though its clear that Lillard is inferior player to Jokic . When its all said and done Jokic will be on that list much higher than him.
