i was on that boat too...still am sort of
but do you really trust this FO to do so? And even if you do....can they? Love Embiid but the players he needs aren't readily available. He needs his PF to be a great rebounder and athletic enough to occasionaly stall rollers...but also be able to shoot. Ben for all of his flaws was 2 of those 3 and its why during the regular season we were pretty dominant. Tobias in theory is that but he is a solid defender, solid athletically and on the board and a capable shooter....but doesn't like doing those things. Biid also needs guys who can get him the ball but also score and ideally spot up.....Harden` is that but is approaching or is in his fall off stage....and again doesn't like to spot up or work off ball.... Maxey is a bad passer and has to work on his creation. We have shooters now but they are very stationary and the JJ type is a rarer breed of shooter. There is just a lot of specific needs...that due to previous errors....I don't think we can fill and even then...is it viable?
Biid is great but the simple fact that just throwing doubles at him is enough to stall him because it takes more time and effort for him and often ends in a tough late shot clock shot or worse a TO...is the common theme of our flameouts.
My motto is that you don't trade HOF talent unless they ask out...but i am having a hard time seeing us ever winning with this strat and I don't think the FO is creative enough to overcome it and I don't think the ownership is going to be willing to pay yet another coach and GM to sit at home.
Prove me wrong big man.

Im done if we get another so so game with bad body language and the sad face presser afterwards after we lose. Done! If this team can't get it done I don't see a path to a better chance so might as well blow things up. Harden is going to get you pennies on the dollar in a trade and you can justify resgining him at his age if they wont be good enough to get past the second round.
Gotta disagree with this take. Offensively Tatum is having a much worse series than Embiid. And yet why are we tied 3-3? Because Tatum has more teammates that can be relied upon to carry the scoring load when he is struggling than Embiid does. If the Celtics lose, should they trade Tatum and blow it up?
Harden has been feast or famine this series. Maxey has also struggled until the last 2 games. Also as great as his defense on Tatum has been, Harris has been virtually a non-factor on offense. Remember we're paying him $38 million. Is that worth for a guy whose role has pretty much been reduced a defensive specialist?
My point is let's surround Embiid with better fitting pieces and more depth before we decide to blow it up.
You’re not going to win with this mindset.
NBA is a superstar league. If they sense you are a fraud, you wont get favored by the refs because you’ll messed up the TV ratings of the next series.
Look at who’s beating teams?
Jokic.
Booker in R1.
LeBron’s resurgence.
Tatum G6.
Harden G1&G4.
Jimmy Butler.
Thats the headline they want.
As much as Biid is playing well and better than Tatum. He’s still not as good as Jokic in the playoffs. No 50pt game. No ATG statline.
10-20 years down the road. Nobody will want to watch NBA greatest game of Tobias Harris or Maxey dropping 30.
That’s why my favorite player in this team in this year’s playoffs is Harden. Because he’s the only guy who can do that on our team now.
I know Embiid is better than and can take his game higher. But he needs to have some accountability. It’s not like he dropped 50pts 12rebs and 5 blocks and yet we lose.
He dropped below his reg season average in G6. He also missed key shots in crunch time (hook shot and mid range at around 5 minute mark).
If Biid drops Jokic level statline, im sure we’re gonna win G7.
I'm not saying that Embiid isn't without blame for our losses. But is he the main reason for them? I would argue that he was gassed late in the 4th of game 6 when Doc was playing him over his average minutes-wise. Plus as we know, centers don't make great closers in crunch time of tight games. How many of Denver's wins have been close where Jokic had to carry the scoring load late? Hence why it's up to Harden, Maxey and Harris to step up during those moments.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I still think we can win a title with Joel Embiid even if not this year. Morey just needs to acquire better wings and more depth.

I believe in Embiid and us winning the title this year and this roster is as close as it gets to the perfect roster for him and how the league is played right now. Maybe just get a better back-up than Reed so Biid can be fresher down the stretch.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I really wanted the warriors to win so we would play at 8. 330 is brutal for me. Mothers day and my girls birthday. I may be in the dog house.

I would say DVR it and stay away from social media, the internet, and TV if possible until you're available to watch it.

sending some positive vibes to Harden from this post.
With 2 days rest, I think he should be ok to go. He probably won’t get you 40pts but he can do 30.
The only thing I am concerned about is Embiid said he did not get not enough touches down the stretch. Harden is a sensitive guy and he may just become super hesitant and not want to be aggressive because of that. I hope he doesn’t take it the wrong way and feed embiid on the elbow from start to finish because Embiid on the elbow is what Celtics likes and wont kill them. Same way we want the 2 Jay’s to take contested layups and mid range vs moving the ball and find the 3 pt shooter.

First, I'm glad we're playing 3:30 because I'll be able to watch it live in Europe and go to sleep knowing the result.
Second, I'm getting so anxious. Don't know about everyone else, but last few days this is all I'm thinking about. Just get one, please just get this one win. It can change the franchise. Please!!

That Embiid goaltending and Maxey free throw are major rhythm disrupters that can change the outcome of the game. I am serious. I won’t even get into the hacks/no calls Harden gets every game because that’s what it is and won’t change.
I understand the league wants its golden kids to advance but you have got to do it less blatantly.
For once, can G7 be played without any fixing?
There’s really no plan B if we dont make open shots. Thats why we focused on getting elite 40+% 3pt shooters.
Regarding the refs, i feel they’re also very biased favoring the celts. But you can’t control that.
It’s similar in some boxing matches (i.e Mayweather vs Pacquiao) where a lot of times the challenger or the underdog dont have the favor of the judges that they have to win convincingly and can’t just rely on the number of punches landed.
This is why I don't think it can be a close game for philly. The refs were even favoring celtics in Philly I can imagine game 7 in Boston will be a tall task in the clutch for sixers. The Celtics will get all the calls even if they are game deciding. The sixers have to come out strong and sustain a lead.

Basically winning a 5 on 8 game on the road which is tough.
Need basketball god to look after us.

Re: R2G7 - 76ers vs Celtics - May 14 330PM TNT
This will either go like it has for Phoenix and Golden State in these recent close out games where we get smoked OR.... simply put, we're winning.

I think we need to play Melton more if Celts play Rob Williams near 30mins.
there’s a lot of reasons why Celts didnt start Rob Williams prior to g6. A big part of it is Celts needs a point guard on their team. Thats why DWhite started and they traded for Brogdon.
G6, we got 14 steals and they had 17 TOs.If we play Melton, we could pressure their ball handlers into TOs, while he shoots at 40% on 3 vs 32% for Tucker.
Another one is playing Niang more, which would neutralize Rob Williams for he has to stay outside the paint and defend Niang.
Then for those non-rob williams minutes, thats probably when we play more Tucker.
But then, I’d also understand if we start Tucker. Again, Celts had TO problem with last game so there may not be any need to turn it up more. See how Tucker’s shooting is for G7, then we adjust accordingly.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

We can give each one a look and see how they go with their 3 pt shooting. I like Melton starting too.
We really need Harden to go 6-10 on 3 or something like that. If Harden can hit a couple of 3s or mid range early on, they are going to panic.

Well if this is the case don't even allow Embiid to do those Happy Mother's day commercials. You know the ones that go Happy mother's day to my mom and all the mothers out there. The NBA cares.

I'm not complaining but this series has seemed to last for an eternity and it's only the 2nd round. So much seems to be riding on this game. Hardens contract,Embiid legacy, maybe Docs reign as head coach. And it's only the second round. The fans and the team is going to be spent emotionally by the time we meet Miami in the next round. We may have to petition the NBA for several extra days off for mental exhaustion reasons.
