Giannis is allowed to have zero bag because of his size and strength. Just bullys people. Modern day Shaq. These kids have crazy athleticism which will work to their advantage in the open nba floor but when things get tight as a guard, you need a shot. You just won't be as successful. Ben Simmons prime is probably the ceiling for these kids and he continually had trouble in the playoffs.
Giannis didn’t come in with that strength. He came in with slashing ability, the same thing these kids have. Sure, there’s less development time available to 20 year olds, but it’s not like they’re finished products.
Sorry but using Giannis for these kids is such a poor example. He’s a rare case of a kid who grew, gained crazy strength and is now the closest thing to Shaq and an all time great. Everyone loves to bring up Giannis every year and his bar is set so high that people always fumble using him and his growth and compare it to prospects. It’s far fetched and this is no different.
Going back to my point, these kids have great athlesticm but their shots are complete garbage and its going to be hard for them to play that position when games get tight. Picking them top 10 you hope you get starter material that can be difference makers in the playoffs. The lack of shooting will always anchor them.
Giannis is a poor example to you because you’re losing the context. It is what it is. The comparison stands. Strong slashers who can’t shoot is the undeniable bottom line for them all. No one’s saying the Thompson twins are Shaq but if that’s what you took from it more power to you.
