It was very successful for them last year, when they had both bigs on the floor they really killed us. Bam struggled mightily on the games both bigs started. We really need shooting this series, Boston are a team that is streaky unlike Knicks they get hot and go on massive runs, that you have no chance to get back into the game if you do not keep up with them. Really hope Bam is aggressive here, because if he get their bigs in foul trouble early it could help us tremendously.

Udoka should've waited.....between PHX, MIL, and most certainly Philly he couldn't go wrong.

I just don’t see How Philly doesn’t blow it up. Imagine the feeling of loosing to the knicks in the second round….. they feel that every season (with embid the mvp in their team)

It's not on him. He's a rim protector, he doesn't have the footspeed to guard on the perimeter. Boston is abusing Philly every Embiid get switched on Tatum. It's up to Doc to make an adjustment which he hasn't at all. Whoever is guarding Tatum gotta fight and recover through those screens quicker. Maybe they should do some ball denial as Tatum is bringing the ball up the court. Make Tatum have to give it up and catch the ball on the move. Or even try Jalen McDaniel who is their best perimeter defender and hasn't played all series. Doc not elite at making adjustments after plan A stops working. He's getting fired after this

That’s the inherent limitation in modern nba playoff basketball of just being a paint presence/rim protector. If you don’t have 4 other plus defenders on the floor to allow you to camp out around rim/baseline then it becomes an exploitable deficiency.

It is what it is though. Jimmy and Spo have been pulling rabbits out of their hats this post season so far (and that revenge series win sure would be nice) so let’s keep it going

Sh*t we basically went against Boston without a functional Herro or Lowry last year. Oladipo will be missed as a reliable wing defender in this series

Bam is overall a better defender, he really doesn't have any weakness defensively but again it's not on Embiid. Defense is a team effort. Celts will probably try that with Love when he's on the floor. And I guarantee unlike Sixers, Heat will fight through the screen or a bring a double right away. Sixers kept doing the same thing expecting different result

Which is why Love will continue to be a 20 mpg player for us

I dont care for Herro.. i know we are better without him. but if we are being realistic about his return. It wont be Wednesday.. it may be game 4 the earliest.

If we are going to win this series, we have to split the first two games at minumum

Gonna have to steal a game away. Would be great to put them on the back foot early with a game 1 dub.

Let’s hope the R&R is giving Jimmy life.

Trading for Embiid sounds cool until you realize you’ll have to mortgage basically the entire future of the franchise for a guy who will undoubtedly choke in the playoffs and also at the least go into the playoffs with an injury like a torn meniscus or something. It literally never fails. I was on board with it but watching him choke yet again while throwing his teammates under the bus has turned me off.

He’s not a winning player, he’s a regular season guy who’s defense gets exposed in the playoffs and bogs down the offense when he’s shooting 25% from the field on high volume and ball stopping

unless you have Jokic bish. I can fully trust him to be healthy with that Dad Bods type of game

His longevity also would be insane.

Oladipo was a huge key in limiting JB all series, we don't have that this year. We better hope a limited Jimmy on a bum ankle and Caleb Martin can be the difference. I will say this from the begining, Spo better change the starting lineup and bring in Caleb to cover JB. Love in this series will get eaten alive by Horford or whatever wing he gets put on.

Let me reiterate....Strip Club Harden is a career loser. You don't win w/ him. 9pts, 5to's in a gm7

Praying Highsmith can be our Dipo defensively this time around.

Highsmith and Caleb are the ones on our roster that can match up with the Js defensively.

We need Game 6 Bam for an entire series here, no exemptions.

Return to Miami Heat
