Guarantee you at least 25% of people voted for thread title. I pressed yes and was just about to hit vote when I saw the question.

Yep. I did. Nice work, op.

Funny. A thread about a rs season award after a playoff loss

And yes, i think the Joker deserved it maybe, but not by a long slide.

Only 24 PPG, only 53 wins despite being the 1 seed and having a loaded, fully healthy team this year.

No, he wasn't robbed. Get triggered

It's not a good idea to make a thread title and a poll asking questions where yes and no mean the exact opposite answers. Guarantee people will make mistakes.

It's hard to look at stats and say that's why Embiid won. Aside from PPG, Jokic pretty much was ahead of Embiid in almost every statistical category. Most voters who have said they voted for Embiid have said historical presidence played a roll. I'm biased but I feel like history will look back and either be confused or compare this to Karl Malones MVP.

You say "Aside from PPG" but that was a 9ppg difference. If Jokic had won it, I wouldn't have had any problem with it, but Embiid wasn't undeserving and an underwhelming playoff performance doesn't change that imo.

If both had zero MVPs prior to this year, I think Jokic would've won it. But since it was close, they gave it to Embiid.

It's a full season award though. Jokic was better.

Also, the "yes" and "no" options on the poll are opposite of the question of the thread title lol

What about the regular season didn't paint the picture that Jokic was better, more valuable, and had the better season?

Politics… only reason Jokic didn’t win. One player actually campaigned hard to get it along with the media.

Yes.

He was clearly the best player and most valuable to his team. Embiid was in the running but Jokic is just clearly better.

Don't really need to go 100% and risk injuries to get more wins when you played so well earlier in the season to lock the #1 seed for your team.

Sure but at least his play doesnt fall off a cliff every post season like Embiid does

Jokic is insane every playoffs. Embiid becomes a top 20 player in the post season.

But if you put in context Jokic's advantage in assist of 5+, it makes up for the ppg difference and has clearly proven his higher worth. The playoffs have been a bigger scope of why his playmaking is so much more important.

It’s a regular season award. Besides there hasn’t been a 3 peat mvp since Larry bird. If they got tired of voting for lebron no shot joking was getting 3

Still, Embiid had an MVP season so can't say it wasn't deserved

None of us will know whether that is true or not (probably is tbh) but I'm glad you said that because at the end of the day, why should any of us care who people voted as MVP, Joker included?

My point is that you can win a championship, the greatest prize in the game. But you can't be voted into a championship.

Jokic has an opportunity at winning a title. I'm sure he'd rather have it than another MVP award.
