All the mistakes have finally buried them. The way forward is with the bounty received from a Joel trade.

If we trade Joel doesn't that present the risk of becoming a treadmill team again? With the pieces acquired from him paired with what he still have we wouldn't be bad enough for the lottery, but we wouldn't be good enough to compete. Have you forgotten how maddening that was during the mid 2000s with Iverson?

They are a treadmill team now. Right now. The new version of the Wall-Beal Wizards. And I don’t think the pieces received for Joel keep you out of the lottery. Unless you’re doing an Embiid for JJJ/Morant type deal and hope like hell that Ja gets new friends?

You take that deal if it's offered.

Four things you can count on in life:
-Death
-Taxes
-The Sixers to lose in the 2nd round
-Embiid to be a loser afterwards
always a jump shot away.

So how many stars you need Jo? You got a number on that?

It's also not the full quote, but just eat the **** and leave the rest for another day.

Please trade the big doofus and let’s be done with this. Congrats on MVP, you were awesome, and now let me hold the door for you on the way out,

You say that after you have a game like Tatum just had and you lose. Not after that hot pile of horse crap he just laid. Really tired of his act.

He needs to go. Perfectly fine with celebrating him in 10-15 years long after he’s retired. But he’s gotta go.

Harden isn’t cooked, but he is half baked. I really was not a fan of trading for him (at this age and stage), and if you have an on again/off again Harden, which is fair at his age, the team needs a high end second PG.

Harden staying or going changes everything, neither for good or bad in that sense, just that there are two totally different routes depending on what he does. If he stays you have to add at least two depth pieces while keeping Reed and McDaniels, the team desperately needs to be more athletic.

Tobias and Furk automatically go if Harden goes and Morey has to get creative in rebuilding then.

We had games we lost where Brown and Tatum were not great, but depth like White, Brogdon and Smart kept those games afloat. Brogdon was a HUGE get for the Celtics (since he stayed healthy), while Morey needs to look hard in the mirror at leaving Isiah Joe go and not finding us one more guard this season. Do that and we win game 6 and you don’t give a great player like Tatum the chance to go off.

C’s are strongest on the wing where we are the weakest (could have drafted Tatum, did draft Bridges, had Jimmy Butler, eff me), and until we get stronger there it is futile.

Do you guys need more evidence to trade Embiid ASAP? he is a career loser and a headcase, let's trade him before his value sinks more.

I'm down for an Embiid trade, but I just don't think it happens. As others said he makes the owners too much money and they'll ride him until the wheels come off. Hope that he requests a trade this summer after he sees how tied Morey's hands are, and Harden leaves. Thats the only way he gets traded.

If it is as a part of a three way deal, maybe.

Beal’s salary next year seems to be 46.7M? Pretty sure James at a max gives a bigger TPE than that.

6 to WSH
Maxey to ORL
Beal to Philly

That could work.

Trade Embiid to Nets, let's reunite him with Simmons!

For the umpteenth time, we had no chance at Tatum. The terms of the trade was that Colangelo not take Tatum. Had Colangelo wanted Tatum over Fultz, Ainge would have just stayed at #1 and drafted him there.

I still don't think Rivers gets fired, but if he does the most Sixers thing ever would be to wait til all the good other candidates are hired to decide to fire him. And then have to settle for some mediocre candidate.

Ugh, it's all the trolls responding, but hey...I'll actually take this one because it's thought out.
My question for you is this...Who exactly are we supposed to run the offense through on this roster? Tyrese Maxey for all the good that he does can not be counted on to do that. James Harden has no lift or quickness anymore and is simply too inconsistent to take on that role at his age. I guess you hope that Maxey evolves into that type of player? It's puzzling to me that your solution to this is to simply trade Embiid and rebuild. You have Harden who is putting on a good poker face, but is clearly going to opt in because NOBODY is going to pay him 30 million dollars much less a max deal. You have Tucker under contract and it's an impossible one to move should we decide to pull a youth movement. Tobias is still on the books and is probably more of a deadline deal type of move if at all.

I just disagree that trading Embiid is a logical option, but at least you added an opinion to this and gave reasons why. I don't see Embiid as the issue here. I think who we've put around him has been the problem. I think paying Tobias Harris 180 million dollars over keeping Jimmy Butler because Ben Simmons wanted the ball has been the problem. I think paying Al Horford a ridiculous amount of money to be a backup to Embiid has been the problem. I think we made the wrong trade when we finally did move Ben Simmons. Getting James Harden was a decent consolation prize to an otherwise disastrous situation, but Harden looked past his prime prior to even coming here. It was expect the worst and hope for the best with him. I think trading Embiid is the final nail in the coffin of what once was The Process. That's cool if you're ready to do that, but some of us see it differently.

Harden will opt out. And if Morey doesn’t pay him Houston will. Let them.
