His presence spells ticket and merchandise sales. Players like Embiid aren't traded unless they demand to be. So can we move on from pure fantasy, please?
Agreed, that wasn't even my thought when I created this thread. Trading Embiid is not the answer unless he asks for it. Letting Harden walk is an option but only if we can recoup something. Firing Doc is definitely an option, trading Tobias is finally an option as well. IDK, I think we'll make some moves this summer, but in the end the idea is going to be to continue to try and compete with Embiid and Maxey in the fold. Maxey will be entering his 4th season as a pro. I fully expect him to take off as a lead guard. I think he'll improve quite a bit once that happens for him. It's funny because it really wasn't until Hardens 4th season when he became the lead dog in Houston that he really began to take off (after his trade from OKC). The same thing will happen for Maxey if he becomes a lead guard on this team. Problem is you'll have to live with the mistakes he's going to make from time to time. You'll have to live with the offense stagnating. Then again, a decent coach can help with that. Lots to be thought about over the summer, but those thoughts need to be with Joel Embiid in mind and at the forefront.
