The opinions of this board are all over the place for the most part. There is no consensus. Hell I'm not sure who I want. Nurse I guess but I won't be upset if it's not him. I can be talked into Lue but I won't be upset if it isn't him. And we don't even know if Lue is out in LA. Beyond them it's a hodgepodge of mostly, imo, flawed candidates.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

What if it’s Jackson?

The only candidate that I've seen some want that we have also interviewed is Atkinson. I haven't seen any board member actively want us to hire Brooks, Griffin, Lee, Borrego, or Jackson. But maybe I've missed it

Yeah there is a consensus on not hiring some of these guys. Jackson and Brooks head that list. But no real consensus on who we should hire. Most, but not all, would be ok with Nurse or Lue. Atkinson seems to have support here.

Jackson is the only hard-line f*ck-no person, for me, mentioned so far.

I’m almost more worried we’re going to do something insane like hire Jackson or Monty than I am it won’t be Nurse or Lue.

I'm not gonna piss and moan about either if it happens, but I am surprised at the support for Lue and Nurse around here. If you're firing Bud to me it's because you want new blood and that's not Lue or Nurse. But :dontknow:

For me it's a lateral move for both of them, but a new voice can go a long way.

Old habits/voice lead to complacency.

I don't think either would be better or worse than Bud. But different, and that may just what is needed to get the most out of this team.

Lue and Nurse have been there for championship teams. That isn't typical retread territory. And then there is a guy we are interviewing who led a future dynasty to a .500 record.

Borrego would be an odd choice to try to remedy the "team no-shows at critical moments" problem.

Under most circumstances, I'd agree (and I do really like Quinn and Fernandez as candidates) but the Giannis timeline is real and it would be an incredibly ballsy play to bring in someone that hasn't done this at a high level before. No year or two of growing pains cushion, need results out of the gate. Lue and Nurse have shown an ability to lead contenders (although certainly not flawlessly) and adapt on the fly.

I disagree. You fired Bud over a very specific flaw of not being able to make in game playoff adjustments. 95% of what Bud did was good. So we should be looking for someone who corrects that specific flaw. Nurse & Lue do that.

I think it's likely that whoever is hired will be a lateral move at best. Bud is a legit coach despite what some here like to screech.(over and over)

That's fine though. Sometimes different is more important than better. A new voice can help lead new focus and new ideas were obviously needed.

Imagine running a successful business, then firing the manager that helped make yours the best business in the industry, only to interview Mark Jackson to replace him.

Funnily enough, Lue and Nurse both won their rings in their first year as HC.

As much as the Jackson stuff is probably just a "bring whoever in, get some free input, help out some agents" move....Mark Jackson should never be allowed within 100 miles of Milwaukee, and should have had his phone number blocked permanently.

Do not let that garbage human being anywhere near Giannis.

One thing that has me nervous is the fact that Giannis will obviously have to sign off on whoever the choice is, that's a given and it's okay. But Giannis strikes me as the type of dude that could strongly pull for a candidate he clicks with and likes the most on a personal level and not as much an Xs and Os strategic vision level. I hope I'm wrong.

Do we think it’s most likely we hear the hire this week?
