Very confused by your reaction. Bufkin had a meh measurement and you responded with a thumbs up smiley and Cissoko had a great measurement and you responded with a thinking emoji...plz explain?

Kobe being 6'4 without shoes is great.

Siddy being 6'5 without shoes is not great.

It's that simple lol. It doesn't mean Siddy isn't worthy of being a 13th pick. It's just not the greatest measurements.

Not sure I agree with this.
There are multiple factors to be a good defender, such as quick hands, quick feet, wingspan, defensive mindset, etc.
However, wingspan still provides better ground coverage, contesting shot, recovery, etc.

As for game play footage, it is hard to apply that to "potential", otherwise, this year first overall pick would be someone with better performance instead of potential.

Agree. Multiple factors impact great defenders, that's why Marc was able to win the award. However we've seen how disruptive a team full of players with long wingspans can be.

Players aren't disruptive because they have long wingspans. FVV has one of the shortest wingspans in the league and he's disruptive. Being disruptive is a mentality with anticipatory skills and a willingness to have active hands. Having a long wingspan just allows you to be slightly more disruptive if you have that mentality when an extra few inches happens to make a difference in game situations, which isn't often.

I honestly could care less what a player's wingspan is. If they're a good defender or shot maker, it'll show up in the stats and tape, not in their listed wingspan.

FVV is an exception. IF he had a longer wingspan he would be a huge pest and All-NBA defender. As stated a lot of factors go into being a good defender and wingspan is an important one. That's why I acknowledged Marc Gasol as an excellent defender. Typically guys like OG, Smart (6'9" inches), Green (7'1" inches), JJ (7'5"), Mobley (7'4"), Holiday (6'7"), White (6'8), Bam (7'3"), Lopez (7'5") are on all-defensive teams with a combination of motor and wingspan.

6.5 and a half?

6.5 lefty PG, maybe you can hope for your best Fox impersonation

Yes, now BPMGatekeeper's whole theory about 6'4 guards which he tried to apply to Bufkin has gone down the toilet and I warned him about the accuracy of listed heights.

That 1/4 of an inch isn't going to change anything. He's 6"4.

Mouhamed Gueye is very interesting and a name to watchout for during this process. Had a good season in WAS, displayed nice growth from his freshman year and he was measured with the the 4th longest wingspan at 7'3.25. He doesn't turn 20 until the end of the year.

Podziemski and Anthony Black measuring short. You always have to look out for big hair players in their draft year.

Cam Whitmore is this draft's baby hands.

Yeah, I tend to agree here.

My board for #13 is either Wallace or Bufkin. I don't buy the Coulibaly or Miller lottery hype and am very sure they will be available around the 20s.

If you can't get either of these guys, trade back. Podz, Jones, Miller and Cissoko should all still be available there. Trading #13 for #21 & #22 means you should still be able to walk away with two of the above. Might even find Coulibaly back there too, perhaps.

I wonder if he tanked his standing reach to get a better vertical. Its pretty low at 8 feet

Leonard Miller tested out well. He's going to playing at 6'10+ in shoes with a 7'2 wingspan. He doesn't turn 20 until the end of the year. He displayed very nice growth from last year to this year. He was very efficient offensively, he shot well from the line and flashed a 3pt shot. He also has nice defensive positional versatility potential. I think he's going in the lottery.

Haha, was thinking that too, but even if you add 3 inches to his standing reach and subtract 3 from his vert you still get a guy with a really good vert and now a decent standing reach.

Like I'm 6'2 with a 6'2 wingspan and a long ass neck and head and still have a standing reach of 7'11

Yep, the guy bet on himself this year and it's paid off big time. Last year he was projected to be picked in the 2nd round but there were so many question marks with Miller.

He’s hiding in plain sight. I know he’s awkward to watch play, but if a guy was on Duke or UConn averaging 18/8 this season he’d open a lot of eyes. Leo’s doing that against better competition and getting very little love.

It seems like he’s near the top of every athletic testing drill as well. He’s ready.

Also looks like Miller grew 0.75 inches since last combine. So he might be still getting used to his body. Lots of potential imo. I also think he has a decent floor, and is not this high risk pick some of the analysts say. He's producing very well and has a good feel for finding gaps and finishing and is great in transition. Can't see him being less than a good bench big at min.

At worst he'd be racking up the rebounds to start. He shoots 79% FT's already! I'd think he'd be already be able to shoot the 3 as well as Boucher and Precious.

Please trade Precious for Isaiah Joe. Trade Boucher for any guard or swingman.

Bufkin is going to have a Brogdan-like NBA impact I think.

Return to Toronto Raptors
