he is a Doc apprentice tho.
Team needs new voices and new ideas.

The East isn't as treacherous as the two times he was a contender in the West (Suns had the Lakers and Spurs to deal with; Rockets obviously had the Warriors). Harden and Morey obviously love him. Embiid gave his "blessing" for it to be D'Antoni. It was about to be him before Brand did his final botch before handing the keys over to Morey by signing Doc.
If it's not D'Antoni, then Harden is likely leaving and Morey can't convince him otherwise.

I'd be ok with it except he's too old... if somehow we could get Nurse + Dan Tony as an assistant it would be perfect.

You would think those players showed up big time and the loss was attributable to coaching. Where is this organization's head? Is it not able to perceive the objective reality right in front of it?
If Harden and Embiid experience this situation in such a way that they believe they had the power in getting Rivers ousted and determining the future coach, this team culture will get even worse.
You think Embiid is coddled now? Wait till the new coach believes Embiid had to sign off on him.
