Nurse please. I can deal with Sam.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

We're gonna go from a Doc to a Nurse? I doubt it.

Exactly. Half the damn league had Glenn on their blacklist. Tons of players are now at least an option lol.

So glad Glenn is gone. Biggest choker is out.
Good to see ownership didn't cheap out after buying the Commanders.
Now it's safe to assume the 2nd biggest choker is back on 4 year max. MDA is likely the new coach. It also means Jo is dropping down the offensive option list.
Beal or LaVine?

What do you mean by Beal or LaVine? Are you wanting to trade away Maxey for one of them?

Re: Doc Rivers has been fired
I mean someone had to fall as the scapegoat.
I'm sure Doc knew he had the biggest options to be the fall guy too.
As for the options, bring Monty back. I would appreciate Sam but if you want to change the culture around the team you need to bring someone from outside.
Nurse and Vogel are good options but they're defensive guys and the team is already full of those between the assistances. Nurse also seems like an ego driven guy

Re: Doc Rivers has been fired
Doc deserves some of the blame for this. This roster is good enough to go all the way to the Finals. We had Boston dead to rights in game six and HE let that get away from us. It's absolutely a fireable offense for letting that happen. To be fair Doc didn't miss those wide open threes in the fourth, but he also didn't do anything at all to calm the storm that became Jayson Tatum. It got even worse in game 7. Sorry, but my support for Doc went clean out the window after games 6 and 7. I'm glad he's gone, lets get some new energy in here.
As far as candidates from that list?
I can't stand Nick Nurse because I can't stand Toronto or their fans. My stance on Nurse would change drastically if we hired him.
Also...Look out for a potential OG trade if we do hire him. Truth be told, he's head and shoulders above anyone else on that list available and should be the top priority for us. I don't care if he wears a pair of orthopedic Keds to the game, the guy is a hell of a coach and a mastermind when it comes to working these dumbass refs. You take his philosophy of switchable wings and put that together on this team with the star power we have in Embiid and great things will happen.
Sam Cassell would be second on my list of available coaches. I think he's ready to step up and become a head coach. Not sure what exactly to expect from him, but Cassell is a can't miss as an NBA coach once he does get there.
Mike Budenholzer would be my third choice, followed by Monty Williams and lastly Mike D'Antoni. Unfortunately I can see MDA being the hire and I'm really not at all interested in that happening from a fan perspective, but the stars are most definitely aligned for that to happen...Morey, Harden, Tucker, MDA has ties with us from a few years ago. I can totally see it. One thing I will say about coach Pringles is that wherever he's been, the point guards on his teams have all had career years. On top of that he's never had a big quite as talented as Embiid. Stoudemire was a great scorer in Phoenix, but he was ever on Embiid's level as an overall player. The main issue I have with MDA (should he be the hire) is the same exact issue I had with Doc. He's been a consistent playoff failure everywhere he's been.

We all know Morey is going to try his damnedest to add another star to Harden and Embiid.
Harris, Maxey, and their 2029 1st will be shopped to every team in the Association.
The two obvious ones out there are Beal and LaVine.
Was asking what everyone's preference was.

Aren't you the guy behind ideas like "re-sign Doc rivers the day after losing to miami" and "Doc should be COTY" this season?

We aren't getting a star for that price, the market it's too inflated for that.
Maybe the market will go down now with the new second appron, but it would take some years. Outside of Tobias's expiring and Korkmaz we also don't have too many contracts to move.
Team can be improved on the margins and depending on how much Maxey improves from now combined with how much has Harden left or if Joel starts to decline.

He should've been coach of the year. They had the 3rd best record in the NBA with their 3 best players missing a month or more apiece.
That said, I'm not a fan of him as a coach. I was the one saying they shouldn't have hired him back when everyone was happy they hired him. But to be objective ya gotta be willing to praise people you aren't a fan of. Gotta call it how I see it, he did a good job this season.

Morey is not improve on the margins guy. Morey is swing for the fences guy.

Only when he can. Otherwise he is a improve on the margins guy.
I'm not convinced he'd sell off Maxey for Beal or LaVine considering Maxey's improvement trajectory.

What a news! I had to log in
My dream coach would be Zelijko Obradovic who is considered as on of the greatest coaches ever in basketball. But that never gonna happen, so... Nick Nurse?
Few videos on coach Obradovic:

There was no excuse to lose game 6. But given that it happened, Doc's biggest sin was going into game 7 knowing that Embiid couldn't hit his mid-range jump shot and making him the center of the offense. Going into game 7, Embiid had missed 33 out of 54 shots outside the key including three-pointers. Almost every one of those was a one-and-done. In addition, he had 16 turnovers in games 2 through 6. What sort of lunacy was there to keep feeding him the ball. He was out of form because of his injury.
Whoever we choose for a coach needs to be able to make halftime, even quarterly adjustments and develop and play a bench. We learned, not because of Doc, that Paul Reed is a keeper. He should have played some minutes with Embiid when the Celtics were going with two bigs. Melton just disappeared. Too much Hardin and Embiid and nobody else.
Good riddance. And I hope it's not D'Antoni.

Cool, next Harris sells the team to Pat Croce.
Give Hinkie a tupee and hire him back under the guise of being his twin brother, Mas Hinkie.
Cassell can be coach. He's fiery.

Re: Doc Rivers has been fired
Rivers is a coach notorious for losing in the second round and elimination games and game 7’s.
This Sixers squad is notorious for the same exact things.
This was never a good idea.
Coaching matters, but having a wing that can score and defend down the stretch of big and close games is the far bigger need that has to be filled.

You cannot swing for the fences without assets
