I think they could get damn close to the necessary assets by trading just one of khris or Jrue along with bobby, Grayson, and Pat.TroyD92 wrote:Plossum wrote:Would you give up Maxey + Tobes for Dame if the deal was there this off-season?

Rocket, Cavs, Wolves, Hawks etc. All of these teams could put together really strong deals that I don't think we could come close to matching. Portland isn't going to want Jrue or Midds. Pretty sure the idea for the Bucks is to trade Jrue and Middleton and use those assets for dame

Lets target one who plays playoff games, please. Sick of these rosters full of unplayables.jakecronus8 wrote:Frank Nova wrote:jakecronus8 wrote:I hate myself for what I'm about to say.
If Middleton opts in I'd trade him for CP3.
I think Giannis would also hate you if he ever read that lol
I get that. But the thought of Giannis never getting to play with a point guard sticks in my craw.

I'd only be interested in Paul coming in on the MLE once he's traded and waived for salary dump purposes (I posited the Gordon Hayward trade before). Like PP said, Phoenix just doesn't have the assets to bridge the value gap if we're trading Middleton. Maybe if you can get a third team involved and fold him into the inevitable Ayton deal, but that's a lot of moving pieces at that point.

I hate myself for entertaining the thought of becoming a nursing home squad, but:
MKE: Paul, DeRozan, Caruso
PHX: Middleton, Portis, Connaughton
CHI: Ayton, Allen
Paul / Carter
Holiday / Caruso
DeRozan / Beauchamp
Giannis / Crowder
Lopez / FA

I understand the theory around Paul and moving Jrue to 2, I really do. I just cannot condone adding a player of that age to an already older team that could see decline/injury hit it at any moment. They really needed to get that FVV trade done last deadline. I don't even remember the details on it, but yeah, that would have been ideal.

That is a home run trade for us. Works for Phoenix also. Think the Bulls would want more coming back their way, maybe. Hard to gauge Ayton's value, and they have to deal with Vuc.

Thought about sending Beauchamp their way, but that felt like too much. Our wing depth would be absolutely shot.

The easiest way to improve this team's playoff ceiling has basically been the same in each of the last 5-years. And it's getting a lead guard that actually warrants taking the ball out of your best player's hands (sometimes).
Fred VanVleet
Chris Paul
Mike Conley
Adding any of those 3 guys is the way to go for me, outside of the pie-in-the-sky Dame scenarios. As a second option, I still like Washington as a potential trade partner to swap our Grayson/Bobby/Pat salary out for Monte Morris and Delon Wright. Guys like McConnell and Rubio would be some cheaper options but at that point you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel, and I'm not sure you want either of those guys in your playoff rotation.

Re: Bucks Offseason Thread - Trade, news, re-tool discussion
Jrue and Bobby for maxey and Tobes
Grayson, Pat and maybe the protected ‘29 first for FVV
FVV
Maxey (buy a second and draft keyontae Johnson)
Midds Marjon
Giannis Tobes
Brook
We’d really be struggling with depth, and this is also assuming the new cba rules aren’t fully in effect.

Last thing we need to do is add "vets". Clear the decks, keep Giannis (unless he requests a trade) and retool for now (until Giannis gives an ultimatum).
Get younger, cheaper, and more athletic around Giannis. While other franchises chase the pipe dream of adding that one vet that they think will complete what they are doing.

Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

Wow.
I wouldn't do that with multiple firsts added coming to us.

Think a three guard rotation of Jrue, Paul and Caruso would be damn good.
And no, DeRozan doesn't space the floor, but he's signed for another two years and can get one-on-one buckets.

I’d give up any asset needed to pair Dame with Giannis.
Basically locks in a two year window before you HAVE to do a rebuild, but that would be a really fun two years and it’s probably the most realistic possibility of a star you can pair with Giannis that will be available and have the Bucks as a top choice.
