Maybe the market will go down now with the new second appron, but it would take some years. Outside of Tobias's expiring and Korkmaz we also don't have too many contracts to move.

Team can be improved on the margins and depending on how much Maxey improves from now combined with how much has Harden left or if Joel starts to decline.

Morey is not improve on the margins guy. Morey is swing for the fences guy.

You cannot swing for the fences without assets

The thing is, we don't know how good - or bad - we are again. Paul Reed showed us he can play in spite of Doc. Why didn't he play some power forward when the Celtics went two big? I don't think we're competitive with the Celtics moving forward. Then again, how would we know. Remember a year ago he didn't play Maxey. Then he f--ked with his head by taking him out of the starting rotation earlier in the season.

My dream coach would be Zelijko Obradovic who is considered as on of the greatest coaches ever in basketball. But that never gonna happen, so... Nick Nurse?

Few videos on coach Obradovic:

Imagine a coach like him with crybabies like Joel and harden. The first time he would tear into them during a game, they would run him out of town. Although someone like him is needed to be successful imho. The last game against Boston was beyond atrocious by our two "best" players. The body language of Joel alone should have earned him a spot on the bench while Boston was on the 21-3 run. I guess it will be d'antonio in the end. At least the offense will not be absolute **** like in the last playoff game. So that is something I guess.

When i say we don't have assets i mean literally, we have only 7 guys under contract for next season: Kork, Tobias, Joel, Maxey, Melton, PJ and Springer.

Harrell, Harden and House have contract options and Reed is a RFA. Everyone else is a free agent.

Of the 7 guys on a contract Kork and PJ are not movable unless you're dumping their contracts or use them as salary filler, something similar goes for Tobias. That left you with Maxey, Melton and Springer.

Maxey contract is not usable on a star unless you move him with Tobias, because of salary, which diminishes the value of moving him immediately. Springer is a project and Melton is also a move in the margins.

Having both gone to Nova, what made you choose the Cowboys over the Eagles?

This Sixers squad is notorious for the same exact things.

This was never a good idea.

Coaching matters, but having a wing that can score and defend down the stretch of big and close games is the far bigger need that has to be filled.

I like Cassell, but worry that he spent too long with Glenn and anything might have rubbed off on him. I think we need a completely fresh approach, and I don't believe we'll get that with Sam, although I could very well be wrong.

I’m a longtime Villanova fan, not an alum.

I inherited Cowboys fandom from my Mom whose last wish was to be buried in her Troy Aikman sweatshirt. If only she knew then the Sixers-like frustration that being a Cowboys fan would be for me, lol.

Wow, that's heavy. Nice though.

Troy has grown on me over the years from broadcasting. I can respect the appreciation!

So, do you trade Embiid or blow it all up and rebuild around him?

My biggest question with Harden is he ever going to be more dedicated to winning than this year? Age and partying are not a winning mix even though I love point James game.

If Harden stays you have to build a deep team like the Bucks to build up the wings and limit roles for both Jo and Harden in the regular season. Joel has his MVP, now he needs defensive player of the year, but along with Maxey advancing, a full size scoring wing has to be found by hook or crook.

I think wtih Embiid, we're getting into Allen Iverson 2003-2006 territory where the teams window had closed, Larry Brown had left, and we started a coaching carousel while being totally stuck without any way of improving the roster. Randy Ayers, Mo Cheeks, Jim O'Brien...We were a treadmill 7/8 seed every year. I really hope I'm wrong, but that seems to be where this is headed. I'll reserve judgement until I see what exactly we do this offseason. From what I've read, there could be a lot of star players on the move. Not sure how accurate that claim is, but I fully expect us to be involved. We're finally in a position where we can trade Tobias Harris and I hope that we do.

A real tight rope. I was thinking of Springer. So Morey really has no flexibility.

There aren't many available. I agree one needs to be found, but where and who? Nobody is suggesting names. I keep hearing OG Anunoby and he'd be great, but that guys is going to have twenty other teams making offers for his services and Toronto is going to take the best offer. Pascal Siakam is another name I like, but a lot of people don't the idea of him here. Brandon Ingram is a pipe dream. I personally just want to see us with some more athletes that can put the ball in the hoop. Christian Wood comes to mind, but he plays zero defense and has a bad attitude from what I've read. We're also in no way interested in paying the huge amount of money he thinks he deserves. I would offer him the MLE and let him take the backup power forward job.

Good luck Doc. He has to be the fall guy. There is no other way.

Give me Nick Nurse any day of the week.

As far as free agency goes, I think we'll be looking at washed up vets that are looking to ring chase and play on a vet min contract. Personally I think we're in trouble. When we hired Doc we had a three year window to win a ring. That three years is up. We had some unseen circumstances happen along the way, but that was it.

Doc deserved it, but I really, really hope he wasn’t fired just to placate Harden. Harden is a straight up civilian at this point. He shouldn’t even be on the team, let alone have ANY coach hiring/firing privileges what so ever. Hell, Embiid should barely have a voice at this point after his performances over the years.

Eliot shore and Kyle Nuebeck both agree it’s going to be Dantoni on the clap your hands podcast. Another interesting thing they mentioned is Dantoni was Embiid a choice over Doc as the candidate before they went with Doc

Only when he can. Otherwise he is a improve on the margins guy.

I'm not convinced he'd sell off Maxey for Beal or LaVine considering Maxey's improvement trajectory.

Maxey is up for sale starting now, Harden is coming back. Harden and Maxey do not work as a pair.

People crucifying harden are justified but even by docs admission we forced harden to limit his scoring and offensive ability to feature Joel more. Something to keep in. Mind

Good stuff should have been gone after the Hawks series. Plenty of work to do but a right decision keep going.
