Re: Brewers Game Thread
I spent a legit 20 minutes in the first inning or so trying to see if there was a good way to get Brewer scores on my laptop without opening a browser window. There isn't, and then I realized I shouldn't have bothered at all.

Figured this series vs the cardinals would probably turn the cards season around.

Another starting pitcher goes down smh
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Brewers Game Thread
So did Yelich bring back his old swing for a few days, start mashing again, and promptly hurt his back? Is there something about changing his launch angle when he first arrived in Milwaukee that eventually caused his back trouble in the first place? And does that mean he'll never be a good hitter again? Or was he just stealing signs all along, as Yu Darvish suggested? The whole situation is such a mess.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

One good take I saw on Twitter was that Yelich struggles with velocity in his career downfall.
His homers against KC were against:
Josh Taylor (93 MPH fastball velo this year)
Zack Greinke (90)
Jordan Lyles (91)
Unfortunately, there's your answer. Don't think it has much to do with the back injury. Also, all of those pitchers suck (at this point in their careers).
But yeah, I always wondered if he was stealing signs.

Probably coincidental but he was never the same after he broke his kneecap in 2019.

Re: Brewers Game Thread
The Rays have the best record in baseball on the strength of their historic start, but cracks are beginning to show.
Rays starters have thrown 205 innings, second-fewest in the majors, and the strain on the bullpen is becoming apparent. Rays relievers have allowed 30 earned runs in their last 37.1 innings, a significant reason the Rays are 3-6 in their last nine games.
The bullpen issues came to the forefront in Wednesday’s backbreaking 8-7 loss to the Mets in 10 innings. Rays relievers allowed eight runs (seven earned) in the final 3.1 innings and three different pitchers allowed homers that blew a lead.
The Rays, with their use of openers and famously short leashes for starters, have long ranked near the bottom of MLB in terms of innings pitched by starters. Still, their current pace compared to recent years is low even for them.
Rays starters threw 753 innings in 2022, fewest in MLB, and 752.2 innings in 2021. This year, they are on pace to throw 738 innings.
