I'm far from the biggest DeRozan fan but I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. You get a 1-2 year all-in window with that crew and if it doesn't work out, then you just blow it up and have a boatload of cap space in 2025.

totally random but for the older guys......is chris paul more diminished than oscar was when we got him? compare the two.
i feel sure oscar had more in the tank when he first got here but im curious how much. i see old clips of oscar with us and im like damn that dude looks slow, old and even chubby. obviously i never watched oscar live except in diapers

Well this trade idea will have at least one fan from this board.
Even if CP3 is close to done I would almost do it. DD and Caruso are worth it. Healthy that's a winner! Healthy is the word though.... This don't look right. Salaries a go?

Yeah honesstly I would do that Derozan trade too. Probably makes the most sense for Giannis Window right now.

Yeah, you know where my true desires lie.
Yeah, you’ve convinced me on Maxey. I just think he would offer so much to this team.
He’d be able to attack what the defense gives us in ways we haven’t ever had in the past decade. I think he’d likely be the best shooter on the team - he’s shot 40% or above on wide open AND open shots in each of the past two years, and he’s been relatively quite good in that 2’-4’ of separation, too.
He shoots well from distance off the catch or off the dribble, and yet all of this is burying the lede with him - he’s one of the quickest dudes in the league.
He would just present so many problems to a defense in the pick n roll. Go under, and he can pull up, go over and he can capably attack the space that’s given up in a blur - mid range or the rim. He’s quick enough to likely give teams issues with hedging a big man, since he’s still likely to get the corner on them, or pull them too far away from their primary player to actually recover - or they’d be uncomfortable coming out far enough leading to an open shot. Full switching and physicality would likely give him some issues, but if he keeps working on his body, I’m sure he can improve there.
And you could play him in a lot of different sets beyond the pick n roll. Put him in the corner and let him decide to shoot or attack a close out. Run DHO’s for him, and either attack that sagging off defender or blow by them if they’re high. Run staggered screens to free him up on the perimeter or underneath. Play some sets with Giannis at the elbow and feed the back door cuts - just make teams worry about him all over the floor - you could do it in so many ways.
I think the pace you could play with him and Giannis together would likely lead to great results.

Salaries work with a Midds opt in.

Totally agree. His speed alone unlocks so much for us. I knew he was a better shooter than he showed at Kentucky. I've got receipts in the draft thread, I had him Top-5 that class. He has the coveted "clutch" gene as well, and is damn strong for his size, great getting to the rack. I just love him.
Edit: he is a gym rat as well. Would challenge Giannis for 1st guy in the weight room honors.

That is a home run trade for us. Works for Phoenix also. Think the Bulls would want more coming back their way, maybe. Hard to gauge Ayton's value, and they have to deal with Vuc.
Wow.
I wouldn't do that with multiple firsts added coming to us.
This coaching search has poisoned my mind.
Not so much that, just referring to it as a "home run".
Disagree with that.

Think a three guard rotation of Jrue, Paul and Caruso would be damn good.
And no, DeRozan doesn't space the floor, but he's signed for another two years and can get one-on-one buckets.
Derozan is completely useless if he doesn't have the ball.
He is one of the worst fits in the league with Giannis.
That's why I was horrified, personally.
Edit: And it appears I'm in the minority, so there's that. Which kinda blows my mind honestly.

Do people seriously think Philly would trade Maxey for Jrue and Bobby? If Dame was available for Maxey you'd have to seriously consider if it's worth it. For Jrue? You laugh at the Bucks and hang up the phone. I'd argue Jrue is a better than Maxey right now, but it's debateable. Jrue is nearing retirement and Maxey is nearing his prime.

Take a look at the Sixers trade board, all responses I got were in favor of the trade.

Sorry to quote you, Philly bros.

Intrigued by the trade chatter around here regarding Maxey+Harris, curious if there would be any interest in a Jrue reunion? Basic framework of:
MKE: Maxey, Harris
PHI: Holiday, Portis
Filler and value added where needed. Harden & Jrue fit like a glove in the backcourt, Portis gives a different look at the 4. Bucks could use a more dynamic guard like Maxey.
I think we have to see what Harden does in the summer before making any decisions but I think that trade would be hard to say no to for Philly. It’s high risk tho because Maxey is a grinder who keeps getting better so we’d be giving up a lot of long term value. But Jrue + Portis is clearly better next to Harden/Embiid imo.
ProcessDoctor wrote:Interesting proposal. I probably say yes, but it definitely shortens our window to the next 2 years after this, especially with Jrue's retirement talk. It solves our backup PG and rebounding holes all in one swoop though.
Harden/Melton/McClung
Holiday/Springer/Korkmaz
(MLE)/Niang/House
Portis/Tucker/Harrell
Embiid/Reed/(Vet min)
the_process wrote:I would say yes to that deal.
mjkvol wrote:I don't think MIL does it because Jrue is such an integral part of that team and Portis is a crowd favorite and solid contributor, but as much as I love Maxey and very much want to see him blossom here, that's a deal I make as long as Harden is staying. It fills our primary needs and makes us a title favorite for the next couple of years.
ExplosionsInDaSky wrote:Bobby Portis is exactly the type of stretch 4 that you can put next to Embiid. Not only does he stretch the floor, he can protect the rim and rebound. I would say yes to that deal if I was Philly.

FYI - the Sixers board response was before the game 7 meltdown. Definitely don’t care for the idea of mortgaging the future to build around Harden/Embiid after what we just witnessed.

I figured. But the Doc firing signals moving forward with Harden/Embiid, no?

Everything's up in the air right now. There are a lot of moving parts here, and until we get an idea of who the new coach will be I'm not certain we'll get any clarity in the Harden situation.

It sure does, and it’s the kind of deal Morey would likely be interested in,

Why the hell would Philly trade Maxey to anyone, especially to the Bucks for Jrue? You would have to add multiple ones on top of that, especially if Philly is throwing in Harris’ expiring. That trade does nothing to improve Philly now or in the immediate future as e Bucks don’t even have a one to trade for six more years.

Exactly right. Thinking we have anywhere near the assets outside of Giannis to make an offer for Maxey is delusional.

Cool, just ignore the actual Philly fanbase input. It's not that crazy.
Maxey+Harris to the highest bidder is likely Morey's plan.
