#11 Pick - early predictions

Post#1 » by YosemiteSam » Wed May 17, 2023 3:54 am

Lottery night - who you got at #11 ahead of all the gossip, team visits and trades? Assuming Wemby, Miller, Scoot, Amen, Ausar, Whitmore, Walker, and Black are off the board by pick 11

I think Hawkins is the play here. Safe pick after reaching for upside at 6

I doubt Hendricks or Gradey will be there but I’d take either if available at 11. I’d prefer Gradey just due to fit but would be happy with either at 11.

Can see them flirting with Bufkin too. Michigan ties, size, shooting, can be a two-way guy

Right now Im leaning towards Bufkin over all these players.

No way Jett Howard gets drafted before him.

GG Jackson needs to be a choice as a lot of media types will have him here for Orlando at 11. And it would be my vote.

I think trading the pick has to be an option.

If they do not have a good trade opportunity, I'd look at many options here.

This is a good place to draft for upside. Similar to situation we had with Franz. I would not trade this pick lightly.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

OKC had a bunch of young players last year, but they still drafted 3 players in the first-round.

I think this pick gets traded if we get a shooter like Gradey at 6th.

If we take an upside pick at 6th, I suspect 11th goes to a shooter.

And-1

WIth Hendricks or Dick would be an absolute steal at #11.

The Blazers board is suggesting the team needs to gain as many assets as possible and the fans there are floating "a good player" and the Magic's two FRPs for the #3. If "good player" means Okeke, then this is a yes. If it is Anthony or Suggs, I have caution there.

The Magic won't know if it is Miller or Henderson it is trading for. So maybe such a trade could only happen after the #2 is selected.

And-1: twice

pointA: As by definition the Blazers do not want a starting PG, this is a lot more like Anthony or Suggs and the 6 for the 3. I am not sure WeHamm can find it in themselves to activate that sort of trade.

pointB: no Okeke is not a good player. He is not even a good 3rd-stringer.

But as a thought experiment, let's say it is Anthony and 6 for 3 to lead to Henderson. The Magic is:

Fultz/Henderson
some-dude/Suggs
F-Wagner/Houstan
Banchero/Isaac/Bol
Carter/Bitadze

Add to that a probable backup guar with the #11 and a resign of M-Wagner, all that is needed is a competent SG for the Magic to have a roster next season.

Then: AND the Magic is well placed to trade Fultz at either the allstar break or next off season giving Scoot the keys to the car after learning how to play the NBA game.

I kind of like it.

Bilal Coulibaly

Long, high upside, coming on strong towards end of the season. I think there’s a chance he could go top 10.

I’d consider moving cole in the deal if we can get scoot.

Suggs can be helpful as a guard stopper. What Cole brings would be redundant if scoot

All of you citing Bufkin, I went off Givony's mock on ESPN and I was limited to 10 options - however, I wanted a mix of positions and there were already a lot of Combo Guards in the list above Bufkin, so I added Lively and Sensabaugh for positional diversity on the list.

The first one off was Bufkin, and I also wanted to include Whitehead because he may be more talented than most of the list if he is healthy, and the magic FO often uses high school rankings in considering one-and-done options.
