They can’t put all 3 in to get just one player, unless it’s Giannis.

I think they need at least one all-star/all-nba talent and a solid starter.

I’m going to go play with the trade machine.

OG + 13 for #3

They would still have 13 sharpe and simons for a potential star

I wouldn’t do that. IMO Raptors need to expand the asset base, not consolidate.

Siakam + 13 for Nurkic + Sharp + Little + 3

They’ll still have Simons + 13 + 23 to further improve the team without having to mortgage the future.

Let’s get it done.

this would be a disaster....it would be a really bad look for the Raptors FO

didn't tank, went for the play-in, got embarrassed in the play-in....and then trade our 2nd best player, best defensive player, for a pick we could've got for free....yikes.

edit - Also OG's value at the trade deadline was 3 first round picks....even if they're all late FRPs, you'd be trading a total of FOUR FRPs for the #3 pick.....all because you wanted to make the play-in and embarrass the franchise....it's mindblowing stuff.

Whether or not Masai trades Siakam pretty much dictates the off-season, OG's future, and the short-term outlook.

If he's not being traded then I'm assuming the Raps try to assemble a roster to gun for the 6th seed. OG and the 13th pick is potentially used to acquire a PG or assemble a well-rounded bench.

If he's being traded then the Raps lose their only star player and automatically become a lottery/play-in team, but one that is deeper with a brighter upside. In that case I see OG potentially signing an extension or getting traded for additional future draft compensation if they want to go full-blown young.

Either way the team doesn't tank next year, they're either competing with Siakam at the forefront or with Barnes + multiple depth pieces.

I just don't see a lineup with Pascal and Barnes can exist together when they keep saying they need to get better in shooting

Choose 1 and build around (obviously Barnes)

The fact that we even have this thread just shows how ass backwards and dumb doubling down on Poeltl at the deadline was instead of moving Gary Trent and Van Vleet for picks. We could have had a top 5 pick for free and still be looking at the same deal with Portland that we’re looking at now. For that reason I think the front office doubles down on this team and doesn’t trade either Siakim or OG. Absolutely **** unbelievable how poorly they’ve assessed this season.

OG for the 3rd pick is an overpay by Portland. I wouldn’t add the 13th pick but Portland is dumb enough to do that (they’re stupid but not that stupid) we should take it and run.

OG alone or Siakam alone does nothing to move POR into contender status. That’s the cold truth. So don’t worry about POR accepting OG + #13 for #3, as it’s not even a remote possibility.

The most likely scenario is POR is taking BPA at #3.

Not a star but a very useful role player like Bridges who has never made an all star team but every league GM wants but casual fans don't understand what makes them valuable.

2nd team all-defence and steals leader...that's not nothing. An elite defender is worth something.

I really don’t want to trade Siakam unless it’s for an incredible offer

Players like Fred of 2 years ago, OG, etc. are top level roleplayers. Some fans think they are more. They aren't.

Top level role players are a must for a championship team, to complement the superstar(s), due to salary cap. Suns traded most roleplayers for Durant and failed. Nets ended up with only roleplayers and that is even worse.

I'll settle for #3, Sharpe, and Simons. Anything less than that Portland can take a hike.

GMs definitely value OG skill set players, but no GM will move a top 7 pick for an unextended OG (now).

Siakam and OG’s value is likely nowhere near as high as fans on this board believe.
