I'm not so sure about that, he's made multiple all-nba teams, allstar games. These are things decided on by people who cover or are around the game a lot. I think people in NBA circles know what he provides.

The number of anonymous executives trashing him and the number of rumors of him being shopped tells you everything you need to know about Siakam's value around the league. If his value was trash, anonymous executives wouldn't be trashing him or saying how available he is.

Anonymous GMs also trash Embiid, Giannis, Lebron, etc.

It means absolutely nothing because they probably are not even real GMs.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Still see Portland having to remake more of the roster and using that 3rd pick to move down to create multiple asset opportunities if there is interest.

Upgrading Nurkic is the obvious play.

- Orlando with 6 + Isaac's and stuff (Cole Anthony and pick?)
- Indiana with 7 + Turner and stuff (Duarte and pick?)

Anyway, that then opens up the second trade which is the mid lotto area pick + Sharpe and Simons (who is the salary ballast, not a positive asset) + whatever other picks needed for that star.

That's the KAT, Siakam or lower level stuff like Beal/Lavine area.

The main Portland issue is they don't have enough salaries to make even bigger moves. The only other option is a Grant S&T.

Dame wants to compete. I don't think Portland's FO is willing to throw out all of their young prospects and picks to make it happen though. If they were, I would have expected a different direction from them at the deadline. I actually think it is Dame on his way out now. Dame and the FO are in a waiting game to see who is going to make the first move (Dame requests a trade, or they just straight out move him).

Apparently Dame is challenging the Blazers fan base to start a petition that he should be traded. This is how you force change . LOL. Is this how we get the Raptors to move on from Pascal?

I can't recall what podcast or interview Dame was on, where he essentially doubled down on committing to be the type of player to stay with an organization for his entire career, and to win with that organization, which was also his way also of critiquing all of the players forcing trades to get into better situations.

Now he boxed himself in, because he will looked insincere with those comments if he asks for a trade, so instead he is looking for the fans or FO to bail him out and demand/make a trade.

It sounds like Portland wants to move the pick for player(s) to pair with Dame. If that's the case then Pascal to Portland could be a realistic route. If Scoot is available at #3 and they're willing to move off from Sharpe then it becomes real interesting.

To be fair, we're desperate to contend around Pascal. Which is why I don't think we're even entertaining the idea of trading for the #3 pick. If anything, we're more likely to trade the #13 pick to get Pascal some help.

Bingo.

How about three way trade…

Portland gets Ayton, OG
Suns get Nurkic, Fred, Otto
Raps get Paul, Simons, #3

This would require a Fred opt in and extend later.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The problem regarding fans (and some GMs) during draft fever is that the 2nd/3rd pick in this draft are tier 2 prospects that would have been comfortably behind Mobley in his draft.

You are not getting a pick back for stars, and you're likely giving up more.

This is why multiple trade downs are more likely if they are really focused on building with Dame.

I read his tweet as a sarcasm.

But it's gotta be one or the other. Trade Dame or trade the pick.

I'm not the biggest Siakam fan but the recency bias for Mikal is pretty crazy.
Age and Contract should be the main argument

Pretty sure we had near consensus Jabari Smith was going to Orlando last year.

The best offer for the #3 pick won’t be until #3 is on the clock. If POR doesn’t like the offer enough they take Miller/Scoot. POR can also start talking to CHA to see what a trade permutation could look like on Dame for #2 +

There’s literally no reason why CHA would trade for Dame

I don’t disagree, it’s just that POR is a seller of Dame the near the draft comes

Go all in for Scoot if that's the case.

What salary is Portland sending back to match Pascal’s $37.9 Mil in any trade?

Return to Toronto Raptors
