Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 5
Why did Jett Howard avoid measurements? Scared it will hurt him?
Another point I heard one podcast was that Juwan overplayed Jett this year for obvious reasons and there was a lack of balance. Not until later in the year Kobe was getting noticed/featured. That helps Bufkin's stock.

DC could be such a huge basketball market and FA draw but ted leonsis has mismanaged basically everything.
Their last 6 first round picks have been busts and Cason is from Texas. I'm scratching my head at why this would be a dream come true.

He said "one of my...". In other words his dream come true is being drafted into the NBA and he's saying this to any team or reporter who asks.

Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 5
Every mock i've seen has Gradey Dick going by 11 or earlier.
What sort of asset would be required to jump from 13 to 11? Would something like Precious be enough? Not a great fit with the Magic unfortunately

I’d hope Ausar falls to 7 if we did that. I’d much prefer his scoring upside and reduce some of the redundancy between Black & Scottie.

Give them a taste and leave them wanting more. OMax and Tristan killed and likely their agents are hearing good things - better than second round picks, I bet.

Meanwhile Podz has enough confidence in himself that he will destroy again and move himself into the lottery

Id be fine with one of the twins and bet on their upside, but i dont think Black is redundant with Scottie. I know the Raps wanna do (or wanted to) this whole positionless thing, but Scottie is just not a guard. He doesnt play downhill like a guard, he doesnt dribble like a guard, he doesnt navigate a screen like a guard and he cant really defend guards. Black is a legitimate guard with guard skills who's big. I think he'd be fine on the team, especially if the play was to move on from Siakam at some point

Ball/Miller combo would be a really good fit. I still think Charlotte will find a way to screw this up lol.

Precious, Boucher and #13 for Hardaway and #10. We let Trent go, Dallas moves #13 and Bertans for the best frontcourt player they can find and prays that Precious never having to dribble the ball and focusing on defence leads to him becoming a solid starter.
Poeltl-Siakam-Barnes-OG-VanVleet
bench is Koloko, OPJ, Dick, HardawayJR and the MLE is either a big or a backup PG depending on how much Masai likes Flynn I guess.
Where's the D?

I don't think these young guys are coached by their agents to say 'Hell no, I don't want to go to that team'...

I get the feeling that Mavs are hunting bigger fish with teh 10th pick. Precious and Boucher don't move the needle for them.

You want shooting, just wait and grab Hawkins if Dick is not available. Dick is a bit taller, but I believe Hawkins is quicker and more athletic.
