Brandon Miller Not Currently In 'Great Shape', Interviews 'Have

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu May 18, 2023 7:37 pm

Brandon Miller is the type of multi-dimensional wing that every team in the NBA covets considering how he could become a very productive player even if he doesn't reach his ceiling. Miller's talent and position has put him under consideration to be drafted as high as No. 2 by the Charlotte Hornets.

But there are still questions surrounding Miller's involvement in the killing of Jamea Jonae Harris and his interviews reportedly have not gone well in addition to his current conditioning level.

"Every team is looking for this type of player," said ESPN's Jonathan Givony on Zach Lowe's podcast. "Six-nine, big guard, can handle the ball. Pass out of pick and roll. Make shots off the dribble. Defend multiple positions. Rebound. That's what people are looking for.

"At the same time, he's not in great shape right now. So I don't know how great his workout is going to be.

"His interviews have not been great, I've been told. Both publicly and privately with NBA teams.

"I would put it 60 percent Brandon Miller at two, 40 percent Scoot Henderson. I do think they're going to have trade conversations too. I would be shocked if they traded [the pick]. They would be out of their minds honestly. The best thing in the world that could have happened for them is getting the No. 2 pick."

More red flags popping up on Miller? Yikes.

You would hope a kid that has shown questionable judgment will end up with a franchise that has competent support systems in place, a strong basketball culture, veteran mentors, and no recent history of shenanigans and misbehaving players.

In other words...not Charlotte.

Of course I'm also willing to entertain the idea that Portland is the source of these rumors in the hope that Miller falls to them(better fit with Dame than Scoot).

No, the best thing that could have happened for them was getting the No. 1 pick. Duh.

Imagine the IG videos if the Grizzlies trade up and team Miller with Morant. Yikes.

He's not in great shape, but I think 60% chance he goes #2?

The guy was mocked at #3 all year.

The second Miller has to testify he’s screwed. If the guys go to trial he’ll have to testify against them and the defense team will tear him apart and make him the fall the guy. If they plead out and skip trial then comes the civil lawsuit where he’ll have to buy his silence for millions or testify under oath, either way it’s a form of admission to guilt that will follow him for the rest of his life. Whoever drafts him is going to regret it.

I'd take Scoot over Miller any day. Scoot likes like one of the safest picks in the draft IMO.
