Current LeBron as in post-injury LeBron who's probably 70% at best? I'd take every Kobe season from 2000-2013. If it's LeBron pre-injury that was putting up 30/8/7/51%, I'd take 01-10 with the exception of 2004 & 2005.

Quite a lot. We’re at a clear point where Lebron just isn’t the same guy anymore. He can’t just score an efficient 30 at will anymore. I’d say 01-2010 with possible exceptions being 04, and 05.

Basically every prime Kobe season. 01-12 probably.

Think I'd go with '00-'12 minus '05, so 12 seasons.

Agree sans 04. For understandable reasons Kobe was kind of a mess that year.

current as in playoff performance: 2001, 2008-10

including Lebron playing only 30ish healthy RS games: 2001-03, 2006-10

Current LeBron being the injured LeBron: 01-10 Kobe sans 04 and 05 and 13 Kobe. Not high on those 2 seasons nor am I really high on 11 and 12.

LeBron before the injury: 01-09 Kobe sans 04 and 05 again. 10 Kobe arguably.

2001-04 + 2006-10, so a lot.

What Lebron is doing at age 38 in season 20 is remarkable, but it’s still decidedly post-prime for him. Consequently I’d take most prime Kobe seasons, especially considering the missed games. ‘01 thru ‘09 at the very least (edit: with the possible exception of’05, I guess).

Basically every year from 2001-2013 and maybe even 2000 version of Kobe was a better player than this version of Lebron. This version of Lebron James isn't even a top 20 player in the NBA.

I'd probably just go with 2001, 2003, and 2006-2010. Those early years are really overrated. Kobe was very inconsistent and his selfishness often hurt the team when he didn't want to run the offense through Shaq. Here are some interesting numbers for you: LeBron has a 6.6 BPM in the playoffs this year which is a career low. In the regular season, he had a BPM of 6.1 which was a career low other than his rookie season. You know how many years Kobe has with a BPM over 6 in both the regular season and postseason? ZERO!!! He did it 5 times in the playoffs and twice in the regular season, but never did both in the same year. The years he had at least a 6 BPM in the regular season OR the playoffs? The 7 years I mentioned.

Another evidence that BPM is useless.

Agreed. I think people don’t realize how big the gap is between the average prime Lebron season and Kobe’s

I wouldn’t underestimate current LeBron’s playoff defense, but ultimately the foot hampers him too much stamina wise, plus his explosiveness and shot are heavily declined. Basically every prime Kobe season minus 04.

A more interesting question would be how many Kobe seasons would you take over 2020 LBJ.

Most if not all prime seasons.

That one’s not interesting at all. The answers clearly zero. LeBron had a PER over 30 in the playoffs and led his team to a ring as the best player in the league. Even 2009 Kobe can’t match that.

I think 2020 James is neck and neck with 2008/09 Kobe, which I regard as his two best seasons & lean towards the former here.

To answer the original question here, I would probably take most (if not all) of 21st century Kobe pre achilles tear over the current, more hobbled version of Bron. Over the healthy spree, my view changes to 2001-2010 - with the exception of 2005.
