I don't give a ****. This team needs leadership. **** talent, this team needs attitude.

If you aren't firing Joe, you need a coach on the floor. CP3 is that.

I would sooner trade for Trae Young than put Chris Paul anywhere near this team.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Yikes.

If we’re going that CP3 route, would rather have Conley.

Let’s look at the PGs in the conference finals:
Marcus Smart
Gabe Vincent
Jamal Murray
Deangelo Sandwich Russell

The “true” PG trope is very 20th century, I think. Was Magic the last “true” PG to lead his team to a title? And he was a historical anomaly. Pistons Thomas and Billups were more scorers. Stockton and Payton came close but didn’t get it done. Iverson was always trash IMO. Bigs (Shaq, Duncan, Dirk?) and wings (LeBron, Wade, Kobe, Pierce) win rings. I guess I left out Steph, but he’s only got one of the 4 GS finals MVP trophies, and again is probably more historical anomaly than anything.

Anyway, my opinion of current Celtics era is that if Tatum can’t get it done it’s not getting done. And he’s not consistently getting it done yet but he’s still just 19.

I def agree with your point but it also speaks to the ‘primary ball handler’ issue. Ie those are the PGs but if you look at those teams it’s Lebron, Butler and Jokic that spend a ton of time controlling the ball and the flow of play.

Whereas Tatum as a two way player imo is very comparable to where all those guys are at but he’s not as good relative to those guys in the ‘run the offense’ department.

As a Heat fan I would love Brown, outside of Jimmy and Bam (were not trading better players than Brown to get him) do we have anything you all would be interested in? Herro and picks?

You can't get Markkanen either. Utah held onto him when Wemby was in play, so it makes no sense to move him now. They plan on building around Lauri/Kessler.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

BOS gets: C Clint Capela

Our players want to play two bigs. Horford and Rob are both somewhat unreliable over the regular season. Capela gives us an option to play two bigs as much as we want.

TOR gets: G Derrick White, 25/27/29 1st rounders

BOS gets: F OG Anunoby

Honestly, I feel like we’re overpaying here in terms of picks, but TOR is stubborn and OG is such a perfect fit here.

Smart / Brogdon
Brown
OG
Tatum / Horford
Capela / RWilliams

Same late-game execution problems. I feel we need a better playmaking #2 whenever Tatum gets trapped and double-teamed or sits.

Don’t entirely disagree. But to me, the only path to getting a better #2 is to trade Brown for him. I don’t think we have the pieces to trade for a new #2 that knocks Brown down to #3. So if that comes available, go for it. But in the meantime I think you kind of need to roll with what you got and keep trying.

You know the Heat #2 scorer is Bam. And JB is a much better scorer than him, right?

We lost to the warriors last year. The warriors #2 scorer was Wiggins, who averaged 18 PPG in the finals. JB averaged 23.5 PPG that series.

I don't think that's our problem.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

We dont need a true point guard, we need someone to collapse defenses.

We dont have anyone that can do that.

Which is a reason I have been advocating brown for simons and #3.

Simons can handle, pass, break down defenses and score at 3 levels.

That is something this team has lacked. Last 2 times we tried was irving (who was great the first season then went crazy) and Kemba (broken)

Not on the contract he’s on. If he was a free agent and was coming for really cheap I’d be interested just as a vet and leadership but he’s nowhere near the same player.

Tatum can and does breakdown the defense but it's also fairly easy to take the ball out of his hands with a double because of where he operates from and how he scores. I would like Steph Curry but I don't think the Dubs give up Curry for Jaylen Brown and 35.

Brown for Simons, #3 and #23

Leaves tons of options to move forward with.

Example.

Smart, Simons, horford #23 to toronto for
Fvv and Siakam

FVV/pritchard/davidson
White/brogdon/begarin
Tatum/.../hauser
Siakam/grant/gallo
Timelord/muscala/kabengele

Pick #3 and mle.

Hire a new coach.

That team is miles better in playoffs

Brown, Horford for Simons, Grant and #3 or Sharpe.

Brad's not trading Horford after he just signed him to be here on his last contract. He signed at the number he signed at because he valued finishing his career here. He's not going anywhere. Who would you sub in for Horford?
