I expect Strus to get a much better offer than that.

I think reasonable comparisons are Derrick White (4-years, $70M), Seth Curry (coming off a 4-year, $32M deal), Grayson Allen ($2 years, $18M) , Pat Connaughton (3-years, $27M), Reggie Bullock (3-years, $30M), KCP (3 years, $39M), Landry Shamet (4-year, $43M), Kevin Heurter (4-years, $65M).

Miami is definitely not going to give Strus anything close to the higher end of that scale unless they find a taker for Duncan Robinson and/or Herro. However, Miami really got burned with the Duncan deal, so I expect something much lower.

Memphis will be looking for a replacement for Dillon Brooks, and Strus would be a great fit there. I imagine Denver, New Orleans, Philadelphia (especially if Harden leaves), Sacramento, Toronto (assuming they don't bring back Trent Jr and/or VanVleet), and possibly Utah would all be interested.

I expect Strus to get around the MLE.

I’m also expecting Strus to get MLE. Think he gets more then Vincent. I could see Vincent doing the Caleb deal with us. I think his market is a bit overhyped and Strus underhyped. If we lose Strus then Herro is not going anywhere. If we sign Strus i expect Herro gets traded.

After this playoff run, one would think Herro is going to get shopped, even if he gets shopped quietly.

I don't know where re-signing Strus and Vincent would leave financially with the new CBA rules, but I think Miami would have one of the highest team salaries in the entire league and be in line for whatever penalties come with that.

Maybe we can send Herro to Toronto for Van Vleet and a future 1st rd pick.

Mad respect for the Heat org and this team. Not trying to jinx it, but this team deserves to be in the Finals after the next 2 games.

Bam finishes at the rim at a higher percentage than Zo or Bosh. I guess the bitching is over

Like I told you earlier

What, that he misses a lot around the rim if they're not dunks or that he has very little low post game? If he can fix that he'll help this team even more. I'm begging for him to add a some footwork around the low post so teams can't switch smalls on him. Just take one summer and work on footwork near the basket. It is nice seeing more aggressive Bam.

Butler needs to continue to work on his 3ball, Bam needs to work on his low post game, you can always get better.

Absolutely and this Heat org tends to support players continuing to get better and grow in their roles.

What a blessing

Right now, one of the keys is outside of Robinson's minutes, Miami doesn't have any really bad negative defenders to give up easy shots and let the lesser players gain confidence. Just having one weak defender can give the other team an easy basket while making the 4 other defenders somewhat pissed that they're working hard just see someone give up an easy bucket. Outside of the points given up, it's also demoralizing for your team.

I hope Robinson figures out that maybe he should be between R.Williams and the passer while in the zone so he doesn't get injured when Willaims dunks it on his head(being behind him that low in the post is just asking for injury). His rotations are just bad and at 29 years old you'd think he'd be better at this.

The two FG Williams made on Robinson...
1. Brogdon attacking and just stood behind Williams, even puts his hands on his back before the ball makes it there. For instance, had that been Butler he'd understand you're screwed if he gets the ball there so you go on the left side and try to knock or steal the pass coming in because no matter what, that ball making it to Williams will be a score. Now if Brogdon can get the pass over into the corner Martin and the rest of the team rotates. This is by far why I dislike Robinson on this team, at this point he should just know what to do.

You can see that play here.

2. This isn't nearly as bad but it's Robinson trying to give the and 1 for no other reason than act like he was playing defense. It's a good play by Boston, Robinson can't guard Williams slipping to the basket with Brown out at the 3pt line, but for some reason when Williams gets the ball under the basket for an easy lay in, Robinson puts 2 hands into his back which he does a ton and gets a lot of and 1s called on him.

You can see that play here.

If he could just go where he's suppose to on defense and quit trying to act like he was playing defense (trying to get into the play where he has to use his hands to in their back to slow down) when he missed his assignment he'd help out the team much more, this is probably the reason certain starter(s) asked for him to be replaced with Strus in the starting lineup last year.

The elephant in the room still remains our avoidance of Klutch players and Van Vleet is represented by them. Early heavy favorite rumors are the Spurs and Suns in a S&T

Considering our cap situation this is most likely the avenue we continue to go with. Our draft pick should give us some indications on the direction we feel like we are heading into free agency. After drafting Jovic we may not feel the need to draft another big. With Lowry one foot out the door and both Strus and Vincent as free agents the need would seem to point towards drafting a legit young PG/Combo guard who can score and defend. Lets also not forget about Jamal Cain coming up the ranks as a 3/4 swing player like Caleb Martin. I’d imagine players like Kobe Bufkin and Hood-Schifino get some serious looks by us.

One of the worst regular seasons to watch.

A lot of us were emotionally exhausted from the constant let downs.

This playoff turnaround has been nothing short of a sports spectacle - an 8th seed playing this well thus far is beyond rational analysis.

I’m besides myself

Same thing with our Hockey team.

I was legitimately counting down the days for the season to finally be over. This came out of nowhere. Good thing I never get what I want.

for sure. As far as all-time Heat roster, I'm only putting guys whose careers are synonymous with the Heat. I give Shaq a pass for helping bring home the first one, but that other guy aint one of us.

Return to Miami Heat
