Colby Jones is a big sleeper this draft. Plays at his own pace, can shoot it and has good on ball defense. Interested who picks him up

“He is our X factor,” notes teammate Victor Wembanyama. “An all-terrain weapon, he can posterize a player and on the very next play block him. Players keep on underestimating him because he is young…They go for a layup thinking they are safe and they get annihilated. Every game he does something crazy. I think he is the player I’m looking for the most on the court.”

When you ask Coulibaly about his best game as a pro, he gets really excited to talk about it. “Dijon, [Matt] Mobley was killing us. We did a box and one, Coach put me on him and I was able to contain him, force him into taking bad shots. I was so in tune defensively. People talk about the 14 points I had that night but, defensively, that game was something else. That’s when I realized I could become a great defensive player.”

Coulibaly, who admits to studying Paul George, knows he needs to improve his shooting mechanics. People want him to be more selfish, to break plays. It will come in time.

“Patience,” preaches Collet.

Then again, last September, the 2024 NBA Draft was the goal. Now, Coulibaly is a potential first-round pick for next month’s draft instead.

NBA scouts attending the Mets games are all smiles these days when you bring up Coulibaly’s name.

“I can’t really talk,” says one scout for an Eastern Conference team. “But if we are all here while some of us have no chance to get the other guy [Wembanyama], it means that he is pretty good, right?”

The only thing giving me hope Bilal will be there at 13 is with OKC competing for a playoff spot via play in and then drafting Dieng last year, I think they either trade the pick or select someone who can contribute from day 1. At least that is what I tell myself to fall asleep at night.

If Cason Wallace is available at 13 you have to take him.

Who would I draft before Cason?

Wemby, Scoot, BMiller, ... Uhm I could make an arguement for him at #4.

Dieng is more of a SF/PF. Bilal is a SG/SF. I guess they have Jalen Williams. If I were OKC, I would take Bilal and trade Dort or Joe.

Precious for Joe, let's go!!!

I got to think OKC will prioritize a PF at their spot.

Hmm, I never really considered Wallace as I always assumed he would be drafted before us. Wizards, Jazz, and even Magic are some teams I can see taking him before us. But yes, if he dropped to 13 he might be considered both BPA and safest pick.

Good point. Drafting Bilal after drafting Dieng last year is telling Dieng they no longer believe in his development. Plus Dieng wasn't horrible this year and easily could end up being better than Bilal. They need a PF/C/PG way more. Of course they could stock pile the same type of player but I doubt it. Probably Wallace, Hendricks, Walker or Black. Something like that. Good point though.

A guard who can dunk? Are the Raps allowed to have that?

Chet!!! Poku not developing? Trade Isaiah Joe for Precious Achiuwa. They should draft BPA. Jaylin Williams looks like he could be a solid option at C like Al Horford Light. That would allow Chet to play PF like KAT does, floating around the perimeter.

I think Chet is going to be 4/5. Jaylin is a backup small ball C. Poku? I don't see him fitting in anymore. I'd expect Poku & Mann to be trade fodder very soon. Trading up from their spot to grab Walker or Hendricks would make sense.

If Cason Wallace is available at 13 you have to take him.

Both Washington and Utah need a PG so seems very unlikely.
It's unfortunate Nick Smith had to tank his stock so much

He’s basically the new Sid Seixero. It doesn’t help that they sound exactly alike either. All they do is blow hot air.

I'm a fan of Will Lou but this is what happens when you basically only watch one team. You become blinded.

Will Lou pays attention to the draft only insomuch as the Raptors are involved. I think he makes that much clear. I can cut him some slack on that since he is all-in on the Raptors beat and doesn't have the time to cover college/international basketball.

Yeah his partner is annoying and kinda ruins the show. His reaction pods are really good though. Especially after a bad loss.
