I like Black but i don't think he fits this roster well. If we get him, can we have some contract clause where he is forced to cut hair so he can see floor ?

If Orlando was more horrible: alle Detroit - then yeh Orlando should role the dice. It's kind of what Orlando did to draft Suggs and F-Wagner. Both where high ceiling / low floor players.

The Magic does not need to take such a wild gamble in this draft. Heck: the Magic has Bol as its "what if" project. Team's really don't need two such players.

Frankly this is why I also an not a fan of drafting A Thompson. Both seem like SG versions of Aaron Gordon coming out of Arizona, to me.

So at 6: for me, the Magic is left to choose BPA between Hendricks, Dick, or Whitmore. One of those three will mathematically be available at 6, no matter how the draft unfolds. And between these three is fully what I expect up top.

At 11: there are so many, many permutations of the draft, it is very hard to know who is available. That said: I still think the Magic should draft positionless and not reach for fit. But I would also be fine with this pick being a boom/bust player. For example: yes to Jackson and no to Kris Murray.

If one assumes the Nets need to make major changes, this could be an interesting trade partner.

For example: if Mikal Bridges is on offer, if his cost would only be G-Harris, and the 6 and 11, if the Magic could get one of the Nets picks, said player could easily become Jordan Hawkins or Leonard Miller.

I would be super happy if the outcome of the draft was, for example Bridges and Miller, with the movement of G-Harris onward.

I think Bridges, if even available, would cost at least an additional first…and I’d pay it.

Paolo could show him how to braid it. They both have the same hair.

I can see the appeal with Black but his shooting is not good.
Rather take someone like Gradey Dick who knows already to shoot and teach him how to play defense.

Personality wise Black shines over Gradey lol

I also just love Blacks hair.

Why personality wise?

I'm very down on Black. It would boggle my mind why we took him over the likes of SGA and Haliburton who were both way more surefire and late lottery.

Wanting to draft for Doncic ahead of the draft I get because he's top 3 pick and maybe it was "impossible", but the other two..

And this is also evidence that us here are not idiots. I know wanting to trade for SGA, Haliburton, Doncic ahead of their drafts sounds like we want to unrealistically trade into a draft pick every summer, but I have not been trying to trade into a pick/player for the past three years in a row and 4 of the past 5 iirc.

It would suck if Fultz or Suggs lost a single minute to Black.

You will have to live with the prospects drafted by the FO

Longhorns & Razorbacks don't play anymore due to conferences but back in the day, they were hardcore rivals.

In this modern NBA we are in right now, unless Black develops an abover average 3pt shooting percentage, then that dream of being the best of the 23 draft is just that.. a dream.
I think Black will get better shooting. He's still young, the same age as Scoot. I think there is a possibility he could end up better than Scoot. He's possibly the best defender in the draft.

Wallace is the best defender.

I like Black as a prospect, but I believe that he's best suited to be an on-ball point guard at the NBA level.

The Magic would be doing him and their team a disservice if they draft him and stick him in an off ball role just to get him on the court early in his career. Black is just not a good enough shooter right now to be effective as 2/3 and needs to have the ball, which he simply won't for the Magic as presently constructed.

Now if they're willing to trade one of Fultz/Anthony? Then sure, that changes things. But as it stands right now Black doesn't have the skill set to really help all that much in an off-ball role.

Someone like Wallace at least showed good catch-and-shoot ability in college.

100% the Magic would add the Denver pick. Perhaps even add the rights to a pick swap next year. (especially as Orlando could be better than the Nets next year).

I cannot understand why every basketball player doesn't consider the Suggs look. Or if long hair is "required", then go Banchero or Anthony by tying it back and keeping it held down with a band.

If I was making 7-8 figures a year, this would 100% be my look:

Getting to know Anthony Black. He talks about being a 5 star recruit and living in Germany until he was 4.

I figured it out. Black was born in Texas, and then two weeks later, he moved to Germany. His father played professionally and lived in Oldenburg, Germany.

Black and Nick Smith. Smith just turned 19 and will be one of the youngest players in the draft. He has a great wingspan for a two. In a 2 year re-draft, he's probably in the top 5. Black and Smith both have all-star ceilings.

Brandon Miller and Smith were on the same EYBL team, and Smith was the star.

We would have to move Harris and Fultz to make room for Black and Smith.
