This is a big deal because it likely confirms what we already know, teams with highly coveted special big wings likely aren't trading them for a prospect unless it's Wemby and no one is trading Wemby.

It's highly likely, Portland, CHA, and Houston end up drafting in the top 4 and not trading out.

Doesn’t really confirm anything tbh. You legitimately can’t trust anything this time of year.

These beat writers generally get this info directly from the GM/primary decision maker. When they get this, it's generally spot on

What if Boston if they flame out in the playoffs, offers up Brown for Dame?

That would give the Celtics their closer, which they have lacked against the Heat.
Dame would also get to play alongside an elite SF in Tatum.

Kawhi Leonard and Damian Lillard would be on the same level as Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

Not 2 extra firsts. 3 and Grant is plenty for 20 games a year of Kawhi and if we’re lucky a guest appearing in a game of the playoffs.

I'd do #3 and Jerami Grant, plus a future first-rounder predicated on how many games Kawhi played for Portland this season.

It would be nuts to trade for Kawhi for its likely the Clippers will have to take what they can
get for Kawhi, since they along with the GSW face difficulties dealing with the second tax
apron.

Likely one of Kawhi or PG will have to be moved by the Clippers.

Can't combine sign and trades with current year's draft picks.
Furthermore because of Kawhi's health I would not give up a lot of value for him. Anfernee Simons and salary filler would be the most I would do on the off chance he can stay healthy for a good part of the season and playoffs. Even that I see as a gamble.

what are your top targets in the league? I'm guessing Bridges if available

Sorry, you're going to get a million different answers. The Portland RealGM camp is divided many ways, currently...the win now w/Lillard vs. build for the future, being a major division that spawns vastly different answers.

One thing that is likely. The value of #3 will only increase the closer we get to draft day.

Dont know if he's name came up till now, but I came up with a 3-way deal that lands us Brandon Ingram for the 3rd pick, and I'm really starting to warm up over it. Here are the details:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2292254

TL;DR: Blazers trade Simons, Little (both to Toronto) & #3 (to Pels) for Ingram and Thad Young (valuable backup PF/C on a 8M expiring).

I think it would be a good value if Brown would agree to an extension first, but I don't think he'd want to come to a rebuilding team without Dame.

Bridges, maybe... but **** OG Anuonby??? #3 and Simons is not enough for OG Anuonby?! gtfohwts

OG Anuoby was the 2nd or 3rd best player on a .500 Eastern Conference team. Show him some respect.

Kawhi is a SoCal guy and a bit of a flight risk. But PG13 if the Clips blow it up? Love or hate the guy, health risks, etc. aside - he'd fill a lot of holes on this roster.

If we go all in on Dame in PDX, Leonard is a decent move. Leonard is incredibly injury prone but if Dame and Leonard were healthy and had some other pieces, we could hope to catch lightning in a bottle and win a championship. Again, this would be unlikely, but are there any other realistic scenarios in which we have a shot at a championship?

Kawaii is a con artist. He’s an absolute joke making that kind of money with all his load management bs.

I like George as a player but he misses a crazy amount of games too.

This was Highkin. He's pretty well connected with the team.

Trading 3 is most likely. Blazers would move that for Bridges in a heartbeat but it seems like the Nets aren't that interested in moving him. Outside of Bridges, I would think Siakam, Brown, KAT, level players all seem to be the Blazers target.

Sacrificing perhaps the second best player in this draft just to satisfy Dame is just a Blazers thing
to do.

No wonder why they have one title since 1977 for they are letting emotion and marketing interfere
in what should be an easy basketball decision

Regardless of the Dame situation and whether he decides to stay or go, I am perfectly happy moving forward with a 1-3 core of Simons/Sharpe/Grant/Thybulle. Adding Scoot to this feels like repeating a long dumb mistake that we are just about to get out of, plus it wouldn't help our PF/C rotation one bit.

I'm all for trading the #3 pick, but not to appease Dame and a player not near his timeline. I want to use that #3 pick, and as many other future picks a needed to get our PF & C for the future. #3 should get us one of the two, and I'd also like to go hard after RUI once this game 4 is over.

Dame / Nurkic / Expendables / Picks <<-->> Claxton / Simmons / Dinwiddie / RUI / M.Williams :pray:

Simons / Dinwiddie
Sharpe / Thybulle
Grant
Simmons / RUI
Claxton / Williams

Not sure who stays or goes: Keon / Little / Knox / Watford / Walker / Eubanks
