Looks like Nurse is one of 3 finalists for the Bucks job along with Kenny Atkinson and Adrian Griffin. Morey better give him an offer he can't refuse.

I'd also like to see us consider Kevin Young, the Suns lead assistant, if Harden walks. He was here for 3 years under Brett so Jo already knows him.

Its not going to be Sam. Mark Jackson? Is that some kind of goof? That's what we need a moron who didn't cast a MVP vote for Jokic and couldnt win a title with the Warriors.

I hadn’t even thought of Frank Vogel as an option until right now. I feel bad for the guy he really got thrown under the bus in LA.

Really hope it's nurse. Insane defense, a coach who's an ****, but in a good way, and makes actual adjustments.

Honestly not sure, but it's something.

I wouldn't be surprised that we like him, question is does he want us, or would he prefer the Bucks or the Celtics if they let Joey Maaz go.

Monty
= he’s familiar with jojo and running a lot of PnR. Im not a big fan of him.

Bud
= he’s good at creating mismatch with the line-up. I do think he can be a good coach if Harden is not re-signing then we focus on creating a big line-up instead, where I see him making biid take another step like how he did with Milsap with the Hawks and Giannis with the Bucks

Nurse
= he likes to try something out of the box, so he’s the guy to hire if the FO sees Harden and Embiid aren’t as good as what they think they are that we need to be extra creative

Vogel
= another guy who leans toward running a double big. But I’d prefer Joeger if thats the case, because Joeger already knows whats the problem with this team

Cassell
= I’ll hire him if we want to have a one year tank or we want to let Maxey be alpha. Harden might have good relationship with Cassell also so he might inspire him.

MDA
= I honestly dont know why Embiid likes MDA. But I think he can be a very good coach for this team if we can re-sign Harden. i think he’s the guy to hire if you want to re-sign Harden and solve this problem on offense.

I would prefer Nurse who could be great.
Though, wouldn't be upset with Cassell.
Mark Jackson is a blast from the past. Don't think that would wear well.

In July 2013, Nurse departed the Vipers for an assistant job on the coaching staff of the Toronto Raptors under Dwane Casey.[18] He was in charge of the offense during his time under Casey,[17][19] and in the 2017–18 season he was credited for changes to the Raptors offensive game plan which included increases in passing and 3-point attempts.[20][21][22] The improved offense helped the Raptors win a franchise-record 59 games, but the team was swept in the second round of the 2018 NBA playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Casey was fired shortly thereafter.[23]

And they say Nurse is a "defense only" coach...

I'm honestly far more concerned with the roster configuration, which to me will go a long way to determine which of the candidates might be the best choice. Is Harden back? If not, is Morey big game hunting or will 2023-24 be a 'pause' year without saying as much?

How all that works out is going to determine more than anything who the best guy will be moving forward.

I want Nurse, but I highly doubt he would want to come here when there are better franchises available

I'm just kind of now getting over us losing against the Celtics. I have no faith in this FO as of right now

If we hire pringles man I'm done

My ideal coach to team pairing

Nurse => Celtics
- Celtics roster’s versatility is perfect for Nurse

Bud => Raptors
- Bud can turn Siakam into a first tier star

Doc => Suns
- He can run PnR and ISO offense

MDA => Sixers
- Embiid like MDA right? MDA might be able to wake up Harden.

MDA if Harden returns, Vogel if he leaves. 2nd choice Nurse either way.

If Harden returns, I'm all in on D'Antoni. If he leaves, then I'm all in on Nurse.

If we're going to have Harden into his twilight years, we might as well make everyone as happy as possible for an outside chance at a championship. Embiid was on board with him before, obviously Harden loves him.

In the end, I think this would result in an angry Embiid. I don't know a single big man that had the offense run through him in a D'Antoni offense. Harden's role will expand greatly, Embiid will move to an assist converter on offense, which honestly is the smartest thing for him. If Embiid can play like DPOY and average 20-25 ppg, then we're in excellent shape.

I think MDA might be the best coach for a Harden/Embiid team. The success or failure of the team will depend on the Harden/Embiid PnR & MDA is a genius tactician for that. There would definitely be some cons but he’d at least maximize the team offensively.

A big danger for keeping Harden is that he just checks out & becomes a toxic asset. We’ve seen him do it multiple times so hiring MDA might be the only assurance against that scenario.
