Imagine how good life would be if we had a Heat/Panthers situation going on right now in our city

A Nuggets/Heat finals would be very fun.

Our role players weren't exactly thriving in the last two years Kyle was here either. We finished in the lottery in Kyle's last year.
Front office needs to step it up.
Team made it to the last minutes of game 7 in second round with a chance to win after losing two starters that offseason and replacing them with end of bench guys. Next year the entire team was hit with Covid and they still had a hard time tanking. The players who this team had definitely thrived, to the point where Birch got a huge contract out of it.
Huge difference in culture since the end of Lowry in Toronto began.
We had a 3rd year OG ready to replace Green in the starting lineup. Guys like Norm and Fred were already with the team and their minutes got elevated. In the series against the Celtics we pretty much ran a very tight 7 man rotation consisting of players we've had for years with the exception of Gasol.
Most teams were hit with Covid. We weren't as bad as our record but we weren't a playoff team either. The following year without Kyle we won 48 games (despite having tons of injuries) with no bench and no center. People just conveniently forget these things. Did we have no culture last year when we won 48 games and nearly the entire team was training together all summer?
Yes, in the playoffs we played a tight rotation like all teams do. The team had one of the best records in the league during the regular season. I don't even know what we're talking about here anymore lol. This is about how the team chemistry has changed a ton since Lowry and the other vets left.
The president told the entire public how selfish this iteration of the team was at the deadline and then again once the season ended for good measure. Clearly he didn't like the chemistry on this team.

No doubt the Celtics will shake up their roster after this series but they wouldn’t move Brown or Tatum cause they’ll be offered extensions.
That leaves them with Smart White Pritchard and Brogdon as their main trading chips.
Raptors being a team without any guard depth at all will be interested I’d imagine.

Looking at the Heat, half this board would have labeled them as a team that should have tanked this year. Aging Butler with Bam surrounded by a bunch of random role players and old vets. Who’s the 2nd option? Where’s the young upside? Have they hit on any draft pick the last few years? Most of their moves have been treadmill like.
There’s a lot of parity across the NBA, it’s nice to see.

3 point variance completely on their side.
Bam is = to Siakam.
Jimmy is a top 5 playoff player.
That's the difference lol.

It’s amazing that Butler was traded to the 76ers for scrap parts and probably would gave stayed there if treated right.

They chose Ben and Brett Brown over Jimmy. What a fumble.

Butler is the difference....Butler proved it time and time in the playoffs he is one of the best in the league...Not just right now but in the history of the NBA....If you have one of them players on your team that can make all the difference to being a middling no hope team vs an actual legit playoff contender...
Sure Heat have some decent role players playing above their projection right now in Gabe, Caleb, Strous, Even Robinson having a decent little run.....Bam doing what he should be doing and Lowry is a huge addition to make the team run smoother.....But if you add lets say Siakam on the team and remove Butler this team gets swept in the 1st round vs the Bucks....Its not rocket science....Having Butler is the reason this team is winning and in the finals potentially.
I get what your saying it is nice to see the NBA so even across the board but i don't like this idea ppl throw out saying "well look at the 8th seed Heat doing it why can't the Raptors do it" ....Without giving full context of the situation that...The heat have playoff Jimmy who has been taking teams souls all playoffs long....And we have Spicy P and FVV...

It should be noted Jimmy Butler was a originally a late 1st round pick, traded multiple times in his career, acquired by the 76ers for scrap parts (should have kept him) and then signed with the Heat. Any team could have had Jimmy Butler if they really wanted him.
I love parity in the NBA, Much better than the Lebron/Warriors super team era.

Why does it matter for us if any team could of had Butler? Heat have him and we don't so that puts Heat in a contender status and us in pretender status....Just cause any team could have had him...Well they don't have him Heat have him....
And if i remember correctly he got an extention with the Bulls, Was not working out for him there so he got traded to the Timberwolves and then traded to Philly cause he wanted out of Minni....He was on his last year of his contract with the 76ers where he actually wanted to go to Miami....I remember watching a little documentary of that offseason and Butler picking the Heat as his destination which forced 76ers to sign and trade him so they at least got something out of it....
I think he was going to Miami regardless of the situation with Philly and they knew that....He picked the nice sunshine and beaches of Miami.

Yes this idea "Anyone" could have had him is a false narrative people forget he was a free agent the summer he played 1 year in Philly...He chose to go to Miami cause of obvious reasons...No team in free agency is choosing the Raptors unless its one of the Canadian kids like Shai or Murray But even then who knows...But Butler chose Miami...The S&T was just so the 76ers didn't lose him for nothing which they were going too anyways.

I'm going to puke if Nurse goes to the Bucks, Sixers, or Celtics. Hopefully the Suns grab him.

His defence has surprised me this series.
