Jokic unbelievable. Another monster triple double, dropping trick shots. Old man Lebron carrying his team and almost wills them to win. What a fun game after Boston's poop performance.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 5
Hot damn, how satisfying is this?
Lebron and AD going home for the summer after choking away the game — and after Lebron got stuffed, STUFFED, on the final possession.
It’s so so so good for my soul.
And did anyone else notice the Lakers playing — for at least the second game, and for long stretches of the second half — egregious illegal defense, with AD (and sometimes Lebron or Rui) camping out near the hoop and not shadowing anyone within 10 feet?
Pathetic. And not one whistle. Not one.
The Nuggets beat the Lakers and the refs.
What a team. What a win.

And Jeff Van Gundy called it out on the broadcast.

I must’ve missed that whistle. Thanks, FAH.
Seeing Denver win tonight — it’s not nearly as good as my beloved team winning. But it’s very, very sweet. What an easy team to root for.
And so much the better that every “casual” was pulling for LA, and that the media and probably the league wanted nothing more than to have (yet another) Lebron showcase. How boring. How passé.
Let’s salute a real team …

Give Aaron Gordon some love for a monster game.
& give LeBron & the Lakers some props too! They went from 2-10 to the Conference Finals. Respect.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 5
The lakers aren’t far off. I think they could run it back and be in the same spot thanks to the warriors running their entire organization directly into the ground, and what is happening in Memphis, Durant getting older etc..
They just had zero depth. 3 good players and a bunch of scrubs. Rui isn’t a rotation player on a playoff team, he was killing them last night. Zero awareness, can’t grab a rebound, abused defensively. Russell was totally useless as well. Lonnie Walker will be out of the league soon. They had to turn to Tristan Thompson LOL.
I definitely think a team like the wizards should be hitting them up to try and get that 1st round pick from them. I’m sure they would have interest in any of Morris/Wright/Gafford/Kuzma and obviously Beal.
It’s a shame that the lakers FO will surely pivot to fishing for “star” players, when they just need some quality depth. Guys like KCP/Bruce Brown/Aaron Gordon would be huge for the lakers.

Should have clearly been more than one but given the final score, a one point game...

BOS making things a lot more interesting. At this point, I would not be even
a little surprised if they made history and completed the comeback.
Butler and Bam need to take charge (edit to add, but at least AFAIK,
they(Bam/JB) have not been talking smack. Go MIA!

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 5
Barkley said if both teams are playing their best Boston is going to win every time because they are the better team. I think that's true.
The three pointer is a big part of Boston's offense and they just were not falling the first three games. I think they've gotten rid of the yips and the series is theirs to lose now.

You mean Celtics lose game six? Because that would be the end of the series

Especially if Vincent remains injured

Yeah, the Celtics are the better team. If both teams play equally good (or equally bad, or equally average), Boston should win each remaining game. But the thing about today's NBA is that there is more game-to-game variance due to the emphasis on 3-point shooting. All it will take is one hot-shooting game from Miami or one poor-shooting game from Boston and Miami will win.

Heat win in 7 And they have an advantage in the finals because they are still warm.

What a damn game. The power of Derrick White's headband, holding off the inevitable.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 5
How many NBA teams with home court advantage lost the first three and won the next three? Maybe none, in which case there is no NBA "weight of history" to confuse Boston's chances. Boston will get the points, but I'm hoping for a great game seven.
To fill air time, they're already making comparisons to 2004 Red Sox and "destiny," and that'll get worse if Celtics win.
