Very happy for the Nuggets, seeing them make the finals gives me hope for the Wolves

Without a doubt, wolves just have awful luck with injuries. :noway:

The Lakers were in the West finals because of a better draw if they faced Denver in first round they would be one and done! Where is that dlo homer??

I think I'm too hard on KAT. There's superstars falling apart left and right this playoffs. There's Jokic, Butler, and Murray, and that's pretty much it. Everybody else is a coin-flip at best as to whether they show up.

We need to be hard on him , this wasn’t his first underwhelming playoff series. It does help his value though when other stars play mediocre in the playoffs as well.

As I recall, he nearly won the play in game against the Lakers, despite a horrible game by Ant. He was the best player on the court for three quarters, much to Charles Bartley’s chagrin, but tired in the fourth. Lakers won that one in overtime.

Let me ask you this. Suppose MIN scores one more point in regulation, and gets the #7 seed, and the Lakers get the #8.

How do you see it playing out for both teams? Would your playoff projection change your perception of the Lakers or Wolves season?

Denver is just operating on a different level this year. Reminds me of the Spurs, have to be perfect to beat them.

I'll be curious to see how DLO's offseason plays out. A second straight year of getting played off the floor in the playoffs is not going to help get him another big contract.

This Playoffs was particularly brutal for him. Getting hard benched with those kind of performances has probably costed him tens (emphases on the ""s") of millions of dollars.

How does a team give him more than the MLE at this point?

I wonder if he takes a short “prove it” contract?

I came across this post in the General Board last night which made me laugh:

"Next on Sportscenter:

*** 25 seconds on Nuggets winning the WCF's

*** 59 minutes, 35 seconds on Kyrie joining the Lakers"

It was basically true. ESPN is absolute garbage.

Good, he didn't earn the last one.

Would be hilarious if LA pulls off a S&T for Kyrie and Dallas gets stuck with D'Lusional Russell.

Even though it's in the name, they aren't a news organization (nor are pretty much any others on TV). They cater to the biggest audience, which unfortunately is Laker fans.

Nuggets core is still relatively young and they are going to be the team to beat in West next few years as long as they are healthy. It will be interesting to see what kind of moves all other WC teams will make in-order to deal with Jokic in playoffs. Dude is almost unguardable

This is a good reason to keep Towns (or up his trade value). He can help get Jokic in foul trouble to get him off the court.

Finally found the tweet! Even with all the constant sh*tting on KAT, who was out of shape for the playoffs, he still held Jokic to his lowest FG% of the playoffs.

Funny. And urinesane is right about ESPN.

I heard Brian Windhorst joking about it on a pod a few years back, and you can tell he knows that the Laker preoccupation is borderline ridiculous. But he pointed out that ESPN (like most networks) keeps track of the viewership of its shows minute-by-minute, and whenever they run anything about the Lakers, no matter how trivial, viewership instantly spikes. He went on to say that he likes full NBA coverage, but his producers know that it’s the Lakertalk that drives up the price for the ad space, and that pays the bills.

Towns has rattled me so many times so its hard to feel good about him right now. The stuff with the refs has just been out of control to me. That said, he did a lot better in the playoffs when it came to the refs and they gave him a better whistle, (even still he racked up fouls). The other big issue is his poor play in the post-season.

He was really good in the play-in game against the Pelicans, straight up star. He had some big games to close the season out. I also know he was dealing with injuries, weight issues, etc at different points in the season.

Really, if KAT didn't have the mental issues and showed up in the playoffs I wouldn't consider trading him. When he is the Towns we knew for his first 5 seasons or so, he is a beast. He also use to have a really good game from the post that has just vanished since he slimmed down.

I wont totally hate on him for flopping because again, so many other stars flopped in these playoffs like Devilz said but I still don't trust him, not like used. He was a guaranteed 20 and 9 in t he past but he has been a lot more turbulent these last couple of seasons.
