Doc or Joe?

Post#1 » by Fierce1 » Tue May 23, 2023 5:01 am

Who would you guys pick if given the choice between Doc River and Joe Mazzulla?

I think it's possible Doc could be a candidate for the coaching job in Boston if Joe is fired.

If I had to choose, I'd rather keep Joe but bring in experienced veterans on the coaching staff to help him.

Doc, this team needs a veteran coach, even if he has a bad rep at this point.

Doc. Hes not a good coach but he has no attachment to these players. The way the organization handled Ime seems like it ruined the season according to Woj.

Doc belongs on a golf course and Joe should be an assistant somewhere. Neither should be a head coach.

Not popular in this forum but I think Dov Rivers is the perfect guy for this team. It won't happen though.

Joe is young and still learning. He has room to grow and get better. Doc is what he is and will probably always be that.

I'd rather have Al Horford coach the team than those 2. LOL

c'mon now, Doc is washed and there are better coaches out there. Monty Williams. Nick Nurse. To name two.

Nick nurse would be perfect here. Bucks might get him first.

I'm going to go ahead and say the elephant in the room that is my head: I'm not sure if Nick Nurse has the right skin color to coach the current Boston Celtics.

Feel however you want about it, your feelings about it don't matter. When Brad left, it was fairly public that skin color was an important hiring criteria for the next coach. Two years later, I'm not sure where the team is with that.

Doc. But doc isn’t coming back. Joe is the coach because Joe is brad’s guy.

Lock this thread please. Doc is one of the most overrated coaches in league history.

He would have 0 championships if Ainge didn't gift him KG, Ray, House, Posey, PJ Brown and coach Tibs.
He has fooled a lot of teams in this league off that ring.

We lost to the Pacers in a game 7 at home by nearly 40 points with Pierce and Walker with this clown.

He has had the most blown series in NBA playoff history with great talented teams.

I actually think there's a decent chance Doc could be the right coach for this group.....Idc though, he sucks. Get nurse if you can. I prefer him over everyone available.
