AD when locked in is better but I think its fair to question his mental toughness. Pippen even though he had his issues usually had a serious intensity that he brought on defense.

ADs best is better. But if I look at some sort of average from 2015 to now, I'd be taking at least a couple Pippen seasons. AD has some of the biggest ups and downs in play of any star I can remember, and that's without even accounting for his injury issues.

Davis is consistent offensively. He's just being over analyzed because he is a better player and has more expectations as well as he is literally still playing today.

I think its fair to question his consistency on both ends. Less in some seasons than others as well as the injuries.

These stats were up to middle of Warriors series but they held through rest of way.

Just look at him offensively Vs Denver in game 1 and 3 compared to 2 and 4...............34Ppg on 61% shooting Vs 20 Ppg on 30% shooting.....................that is the definition of inconsistent offense. His ceiling on offense is in another stratosphere to Scottie but hes inconsistent as hell

His average is 22 points so obviously his off games are 13 PPG. That's how averages work. Why not cite his first 3 playoff runs or his healthy regular season runs?

I know what to expect from Davis on offense pretty regularly. He is a high conversion pick and pop player and a high conversion pick and roll player. He makes safe comfortable passes and doesn't turn the ball over much. He's better at being set up than creating for himself.

How would he be so efficient if he wasn't consistent? That doesn't make sense.


Davis is a better defensive player than offensive, but think he is not able to play defense to the best of his ability with any consistency (he looks like the best defender in the league by a lot, but I don't know how that holds up during the RS?). His offense is whether he makes shots or not, that isn't much different from many other volume scorers. He isn't a creator, there isn't much else to judge him on. Looking at selective sample sizes is dumb, I don't think I have to explain why, you could find literally any volume scorer who had bad series and bad games.

I can't imagine a version of Scottie I'd want over Anthony Davis.

You can make an argument based on health/availability concerns, but when he's on the court, Davis is much better than Pippen ever was. He had his issues in the Denver series, but I mean, it's not like Pippen didn't have his own problems.

Scottie Pippen has worse stats and is obviously a worse player but is some how more consistent than Anthony Davis. Okay...that makes no sense.

I know it's easy to get caught up in narratives but consistency is literally what makes you good. That's why we look at averages...

I mean that is just flat out ESPN stuff.

Pippen deferred scoring and was a great playmaker and defender. He didn't disappear quite like AD either. 92, 94 and 96 might be better than all but one or two seasons for AD. Time missed is a factor as well.
