Much better
Played D for a change. Nice blocks and steals and not giving up open buckets
Grant and White finally arrived. Al arrived offensively
JT played like JT. Loved the midrange and post ups
Celtics in 7

It's still a major concern the amount of threes Boston takes. 45 threes with a 40% shoiting just isn't sustainable.
M my rant: this game pisses me off as well and I'll tell you why: Not taking anything away from Miami they play hard and they're well coached but it's so goddamn annoying that a team with this much talent can't bring this almost every night. It's absolutely absurd they're down 3-1 now.
The season average is 42.6 threes per game on 37.7%. 40% on 45 threes is eminently sustainable. It's like 2 more attempts than average and like one more made three than what 37.7% would be.
Up until this point Miami has done an incredible job covering the three
Game 1 34%
Game 2 28%
Game 3 26%
Boston is going to have to win a close game where they struggle from three if they want to get past Miami.

The same can be said about some of our fans.
Down 0-3 to the Heat what do you expect? The fact they took game 3 off to boot. I'm really not sure what you expect.
He expects everyone to be delusional because apparently only "true" fans can watch a game (or a team go down 0-3) without even a hint of objectivity.

I would have more confidence in the Celtics winning the next game if it was in Miami instead of Boston.

Nice win.
For the first time this series, this was the first time going into the game where I had a feeling we would win. I posted that on page 2 of the game thread hours before the game.
VC to Tatum and Grant. Tatum was great. Came out aggressive on the boards. Then started scoring like his usual self.
Grant came up big. 14 points on only 7 shots, 6 rebounds and great defensive.
Shout out to White for a good game.
Al was good too. Brown was decent.
Need more from Smart and Brogdon.
J Zulla outcoached Spoelstra!

I actually think we win the next one. I think we'll have to win a close one in game 6. Our Achilles heel. Win a scrappy game 6 and it's on!!

That ship has sailed, this is who Boston is. They will continue to live (or die) by the 3 as they've done all year.
Do people not get this? Boston coming into this game had actually DOMINATED Miami on points in the paint this series. They dominated the offensive glass in game 3. They had taken 11 more FTA's in the series.
At some point, THEY HAVE TO HIT THREES. Coming into this game they were shooting under 30% from three, and MIA was shooting 48% from three. It almost literally does not matter what else you do if you get out shot that badly. MIA had 13 MORE three point makes on 14 FEWER three point attempts before today.
Basically the three point shooting disparity alone meant Boston was spotting MIA 15+ points every game. And that's before you consider the demoralizing effect it can have on your overall play.
Boston HAS TO, HAS TO take and make threes this series (and/or MIA has to miss theirs). Its REALLY HARD to overcome that disparity. but especially so for this c's team as designed.

2nd half tonight was the first one I watched while having a couple drinks. Sorry liver. The Cs need us.

I expect true fans to enjoy a great win and embrace that little glimmer of hope. Anything else, including showing that you're a proud card-carrying member of the Wet Blanket Club, is either choking or trolling.

So predictable

We just have to stop letting Martin shoot open shots.
Once he was seeing hands in his face all of a sudden he’s back to being Caleb Martin that can’t shoot and not Kobe Martin.

Exactly. The aggressiveness on closeouts was much better!! Much more tenacity. It was obvious.

Marcus made a few shots but he wasnt good overall.
I'm stunned there are people saying Brown was bad/horrible. Yeah, he didnt shoot great but he was good defensively and moved the ball well. Should have had 8-9 assists.
Brown was horrible for most of the first half.
Ehh I don't know. Made some really good passes. Thought he was fine, strangely low volume first half for him but that might be because he knows he's struggling with his shot.

Some of y’all are the mole in whack-a-mole swear to God. This team isn’t winning this series folks. And it is infuriating they played hard and with purpose only after being down 3-0 and 6 at the half of the fourth game. Winning this game doesn’t change the fact that changes need to be made in the off-season.

It should’ve been game 2. That was ours for the taking and we fumbled the bag.
I think we found something though. We spammed the high pick and roll with Tatum in the second half and he was getting looks at the ring. They had Bam on Smart and he was spreading the floor leaving the driving lanes wide open.
Much love to Grant Williams. This guy has played his heart out after sitting game 1. Hit big shots, played great defense. Not a lot of talk to the refs today when I feel like he could’ve.
I have a quiet confidence we can still win this series. I don’t want to disrespect the Heat but we’ve played like ass for 3 games and they’ve been shooting at an unsustainable pace. Those 3’s aren’t going to come as easy the longer the series goes on and that helps us immensely.

One of the things I loved what the Celtics did was not falling for Jimmy Butler’s pump fakes. They stayed down for the most part when he’s looking to draw fouls. Stay down on this dude and make him shoot tough fade aways. He doesn’t have a bag like Kobe smh.
