I didn’t understand the scoot stuff. He doesn’t sound a Masai guy at all. Black sounds like a total raptor type.

I think the guy they would want at 4 is exclusively Anthony Black. It makes too much sense. 6'7 player who can legitimately man the point guard position and can do everything but shoot. It would be a slap in the face of FVV who might betray Masai who has been so loyal to him replacing him with such a tall PG.

I don’t think that was intentional though. Guys like OG and Pascal were with the team before and Scottie was the best guy on the board at #4. So they just tried to make the best of what they had. With the Poeltl addition and how often they went with that Fred and Yak PnR I think they realized a little more structure is required.

It's funny. There has been some buzz about Siakam for young player + filler + pick(s).

But in every case the team in question is much better off getting OG.

And the Raptors much worse off without OG. Imagine how bad our D will be. These playoffs have shown the value of having an OG type defender, every contender could have used him

That experiment is likely done. I think he rounds out the team with some moves at the draft.

Yes finally but it took a long time to fill that center hole. Meanwhile we kept adding redundant long guys like Boucher, Achiuwa, Birch, Thad, even a failed try like Bonga. One versatile 6'5 guy in the mix would have been nice.

Is Amen Thompson an actual PG? I struggle to see him as PG as opposed to just a wing creator.

can't imagine Scoot lasting till #4. Possibly Miller, likely Amen, maybe Black/Ausar/Whitmore?

Scoot will make it to 4 if Masai is drafting 3rd. He will go for the under dog. Everyone will revolt and the guy will end up the better player.
