Honestly no clue what he will bring to the team but if he can be a leader, be respected and actually speak up to players and make adjustments I'll be happy. If this was for sure Giannis guy then I'd assume he will be staying long term. That's worth it right there. Let Giannis be humbled if it doesn't work out. Welcome to Milwaukee Adrian!

Doesn't surprise me. If Nurse really wanted the job he would've took it earlier and/or why would he want a job where there isn't consensus from the stakeholders on hiring him?

I hope this is ultimately an upgrade, but at this early juncture, I can't see how it would be. Bud was a legitimately qualified head coach with a track record of winning before he came here.

Hopefully Griffin proves me wrong.

Im guessing Nurse must have a mega offer from Phoenix to have interviewed then pull out, maybe the interview went bad the other way. Doesn’t seem like we got our guy, we got the back up plan

This is such a wild risk. If Giannis doesn't extend or at least signal privately that he'll be extending, we might be in over our heads here. There is a lot to like about Griffin. He's definitely a Udoka type. Things started out rocky for him in Boston. Lots of potential growing pains with a first timer.

Players better show up in shape and ready to go for their friend coach.

Definitely not the most exciting hire. He was an assistant with us under Skiles, the Bulls under Thibs, Orlando under Skiles, OKC under Donovan and Toronto under Nurse. Chicago had some very good seasons, but outside of those couple years and Toronto that's a very underwhelming resume record-wise. Hoping for the best, and I'm sure he's learned a lot, but feels weird that we landed on him, seemingly due to the Raptors success but allegedly didn't want the head coach he was under. Guessing Nurse didn't choose us.
