Yeah definitely could have been nurse leaking he pulled out after finding out Griffin was getting the gig. But if Nurse is hired in Phoenix in the next couple days then it probably was a real pull out. I guess we'll see.Prez wrote:I don’t think a Shams tweet means anything, the amount of water carrying over the last several weeks has been comical.
It’s very favorable and convenient framing for Nurse, but an equally valid one could be that there wasn’t as much support for him in the Bucks FO as he thought, Giannis preferred Griffin, and that’s why he removed himself.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Yes. Candidates often "remove themselves from consideration" when they know they aren't it. Looks better than the Bucks chose his assistant over him.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Handing the front office keys to Giannis. Oh boy. Gotta respect the long term play.

Re: Woj - Bucks choose Griffin
While all three candidates interviewed for the position with Horst, another factor became incredibly noteworthy late in the process: the finalists were also given the chance to meet individually with two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo at his River Hills home on Tuesday, sources said.
After that, each candidate met with a Bucks ownership contingent on Wednesday. On Thursday night, Horst held a dinner to discuss the team’s decision regarding the head coach opening that included ownership. Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton were invited to attend, a league source said.
On Saturday, sources said Nurse pulled out of the Bucks‘ search as the team decided between Griffin and Atkinson and ultimately chose Griffin. Antetokounmpo endorsed the hiring of Griffin, sources added.
GM Giannis.

Never sleep on Gambo. Never. Dude has connections.
paulpressey25 wrote:I believe Gambo’s report. This is Giannis IMO. Probably sore over the last four years of going against Nurse and Drake. Dude is sort of a prick, so don’t blame Giannis for having reservations.

When Toronto fired Casey to hire Nurse people laughed.
When Chicago fired Doug Collins for Phil Jackson, many scratched their heads.
When Miami moved Pat Riley up and put Spoelstra in as coach many questioned it.
When Pop moved himself to coach of the Spurs..............
Great coaches have to start somewhere. I will give Griffin a chance and am glad to know we hired the guy that Giannis wanted all along.

With rookie coaching, no real 2nd star, no strong, championship head coach to control Giannis barreling.. it's over now.... Giannis will be traded within 2 years and rebuild.. unbelievable
Like why?? Jordan and Kobe needed Phil Jackson... Giannis needs...... Adrian something? Wtf

You really don't know anything about one of the finalists for the job?

Ones a proven head coach the other isn’t. Is it that hard to understand? Lol
Doc Rivers is even more experienced. Did you want him?
No. There’s multiple factors in everything. Bud and Doc have proven that they are not elite coaches at the highest levels. Both have proven however they can Atleast win in the regular season. Griffin has proven none of these things.
I’m fine with firing Bud, I’m fine with Nurse/Giannis not wanting to work with each other, but this is at best a shot in the dark. Horst should be on the hottest of hot seats

GM Giannis.
If the others wanted Nurse and Giannis didn't, Giannis is a smart GM
