Game 6: Celtics @ Heat 8:30pm, 5/27/23

WTF???

I called this out immediately after the game. I was like why did it go from 2.1. FML. It just is what it is to be a Heat fan at this point.

Not only that but the clock didnt start immediately after Smart touched the ball.. started about .3 seconds after. Unfortunately there is human error involved in these games but on a final play, they should be reviewing the clock from start to finish to see if the teams had any extra time advantage..

You'd think we'd get a favorable clock at home.

And of course, nobody on our coaching staff ever wants to look as if they're depending on the referees, and so they eat **** from them with a smile, and don't say anything. This has been happening for SEVERAL SEASONS for us now.

For whatever reason, the Miami Heat organization thinks not defending their players from **** refereeing is "classy".

So if he's not injured.... maybe he's just a front runner that needs specific situations to be able to play well? Like, a real superstar cannot be stopped, no matter who they play, they will get their 30 and can iso score.

Maybe Jimmy is exposed as a streaky player without the tools to dominate like that.

Like I said earlier, Dwyane Wade has spoiled df out of me. I foolishly held this expectation on Jimmy and he seemed like he was becoming that...then the last few games happened. Going into Boston game 7? Blowout.

Yeah, Wade did spoil us. 3rd GOAT SG .... could just give the ball to Wade and iso and he would close for us. Even when we lost games, it wasn't cause Wade sucked or anything.

Jimmy is disappointing, but we saw a flash of this in the 2021 playoffs remember? We all were puzzled at why he sucked and assumed injuries?

I wish I knew. I followed him because when healthy he gave great effort and is able to overcome not having a great anything in his game to put up some incredible numbers, basically saying anyone in the NBA willing to work hard enough could be a very good player. This just sucks to see him do this for so many games in a row with the Finals on the line, they should have worked hard as hell to win game 4 and have a lot of time for everyone to rest up, now, their on game 7 and may not even make the finals. If I'm an owner, I can't trust Butler as my #1. I also have a lot of questions about Bam too.

Officiating was horrendous. They did the best they cld to get this to a game 7. Ratings will be HUGE....thus Revenue for NBA will be HUGE. Unfortunately they f*cked us up in the process which is extremely agitating.

The question now is are they satisfied w/ the gm7 profits or do they also want Boston too to advance to the NBA Finals. If they do and the calls continue to be the same then we're all going to feel very sick by the end of gm7.

They absolutely want Boston, in particular Tatum, in the Finals, 3bb. Did you forget it's Bill Russell memorial season?

I can't expect our roleplayers to play as good as they did tonight in Boston. I don't see it. This kind of loss is hard to overcome for everyone but the best in the game. Talking about all the pressure is on Boston to win game 7 in their house. That's not much pressure. We fkd around and now we find out next game. Oh well.

We can't expect it, but they have to. We can't count on our stars to show up for work let alone play well.

Part of this is we close out better on their shooters this game with no KLove minutes.

Exactly. It’s the playoffs, do or die for the Celtics. I expected a close game down to the wire. There aren’t going to be any blowouts. This isn’t a good look for Spo, particularly.

They were missing everything and shying away from the ball. What technically could Spo have done differently? I'm genuinely wondering what others think

The Heat should’ve won this game. Celtics had twice as many turnovers and shot 20% from three. Even though the rebounding was even, the offensive rebounding was key for the Celtics to make up for their poor shooting.

Bam gets pushed around a lot for a guy his size. They should insert Kevin Love back in the lineup. They were out rebounding Boston in the first three games.

Spo gets addicted to having the ability to switch. So Love being out the rotation this game is not surprise.

Also Bam is not as big as ppl think he is. He's not actually a C, he just plays that position. He's 6'9. He's basically Tatum's size.

BUT

Will our role players show up and hit their threes (the way they did tonight)? In retrospect, will Boston struggle as much as they did today from deep? It's more likely the shooting of our role players will regress while Boston shoots a higher than normal percentage from deep.

PAT RILEY: Finish. I'm always about just finishing and completing the task. You know, four, five minutes left to go in the game with a 17 or 18-point lead, a genuine feeling and sensation that you're going to get this done. It's always for me a harrowing ride because you just don't know what land mines or trap doors are going to open up along the way. But our guys came tonight and put the hammer down, period. That's it. Detroit is an absolute great team. They've been the stronghold in the East for the last four years. They've been our nemesis the last three years, and in order for us to beat them they were going to have to put the hammer down, and that's what it was going to take. Our guys came out defensively and did that.
