We lose WCJ on top of this. How well did Russell Westbrook and Lebron James work out? Spacing was terrible.

I don’t see Scoot as a Westbrook clone. He’s a better passer and has a decent form on his shot. Also isn’t reluctant to attempt 3’s and has a pretty decent free throw percentage.

Paolo and Franz are not LeBron.

Scoot, Franz and Paolo are all best when attacking the rim. I hate to lock our core into that at the price to get Scoot. Also, realistically we will never have 3 near max players.

WCJ is invaluable on so many levels for a small market team. I don’t see the risk/reward benefits here.

Yeah but there’s more to their game which is why I believe it can work. They are quite versatile.

I like WCJ myself. I also know he can be out for quite some time as he getting good older.

I honestly don’t see the deal happening. I’m just a fan because I believe Scoot at his highest potential if he gets to that would be special and better than Fultz. I’m not a fan of Fultz’s fit as he is currently because of the reasons you state for Scoot. I believe Scoot has more room to grow as a shooter and a better distributor in more of a variety of ways than Fultz.

Curious what you would do with picks 6 and 11?

No opinions on who you think BPA is at 6?

I do agree you go with BPA there.

I see Pistons taking Cam or Walker. Most likely Cam so pretty sure he will be gone.

That’s what I think too. I’ve been trying to sell myself on the Thompson twins. Some like Amen more than Ausar. One of them will should be there. I don’t like the idea of drafting Walker or Hendricks personally.

I’m also wondering about George.

If our FO takes Ausar at 6 I’m onboard. They are better than most at evaluating talent. I have kept watch on the Thompson twins a couple of years. I haven’t been impressed with their development so far so have tempered my expectations.

George is interesting to me. I feel like Cole gives us a lot of what George would give us.

A big difference is Lebron and Westbrook (+ AD) take up most of the cap on their own. There isn’t much wiggle room around them. The only way they were able to improve was to move off of Westbrook.

Paolo, Franz and Scoot would all be on rookie deals. We could still build out a complimentary roster around them before they get their big deals.

I would listen to the latest bill Simmons podcast for the last hour it does a really great breakdown on the new CBA rules coming into play and this FA will be so incredibly interesting to see if the money stays the same on these contracts. Milwaukee will be one I am looking at. You really only have space for two maxes and then it gets really tight with that second apron. I think you need to be careful extending anyone on our roster outside of Franz and Paolo.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

SI's current trade rumor:
Tyler Herro for Jonathan Isaac, Gary Harris and the No. 11 overall pick.

That's an auto-yes for WeHamm. They would get the trade-contract to the Heat as fast as possible so that Miami would not have time to change their mind.

not so sure thats an auto yes. I like Herro, but i wonder if the front office believes someone like Jordan Hawkins could replicate 90% of him for a lot less money. not saying they say no, but i dont think its an automatic yes. And Miami needs to shed some salary to sign players.

That trade is auto -yes

You get great combo guard for 2 corpses and pick that will never get any PT to begin with.

Absolutely yes...but I have to wonder is Isaac in there as salary filler or is there an expectation that he'll play. IF he's healthy, that's tougher for me.

I have to wonder what the national sports media (generally disinterested/uninformed about ORL) is intending.
Does MIA make the trade without Isaac's contribution? Is it about #11 and waive-able filler? Harris is a nice throw-in...he can play a limited role on any team and only a short-term commitment.

If the package for Simons is the same: Jonathan Isaac, Gary Harris and the No. 11 overall pick: I also would want this.

A couple things. Herro has no loyalty to the Magic and will leave as soon as he can. Also, Miami is ultra unlikely to ever make a trade with Orlando.

On the flip side: Simons is literally the Magic. It is his with name and blood-line!
