Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 5
I think the shot concerns with Amen are overblown. We are not talking about Lonzo Ball weirdness, just needs more reps to speed up the shot.
I think with the NBA size and speed he is going to be a terror. I think my PG rankings are now:
1. Scoot
2. Amen
3. NSJ
4. Black
5. Wallace
I would be happy with any of the top three. Ausar might be worth discussion as to whether he is a PG but he is closer to a Demar type who scores first and passes well.

It's really not that hard to understand why the Thompson twins have been mocked to go top 10.
Having elite athleticism, great connectors/passing ability, the want to play defence and good length/height automatically is literally the blueprint to being a top 10 pick lol.

My worry about him is how much he needs the ball to be in his hands. He love to control the ball for a few dribbles and get into his shot. He is a guy you watch who needs to cook. Other guys like Black and NSJ now how to cut and be offball threats.
If Keyonte develops the PG side of things I am in but being a ball dominant shoot first guy is tough to integrate.
I still think there is no way the Magic pass twice on him.

They're praising George in that twitter video but that first shot isn't a good shot. Its a contested 3 with plenty of time left, that's why his %'s were bad at Baylor, taking tough and poor efficiency shots. High usage guys with that style have a hard time to adjust to NBA. Its definitely possible, especially with better teammates at the next level but that beginning of the video should be drawing criticism, not praise.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

That's where I'm at with him. I like him and I would be fine with him at 13 but what's his easy buckets ?
GTJ and FVV struggle with that, they can make tough shots but they don't have a way to manufacture easy buckets which is why they have terrible FG %'s.

But Michael Scotto also said that Tyrese Maxey was on the table for Lowry, automatic ignore because he can't be trusted.

Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 5
Kind of wild looking back at Darius Garland path to the NBA:
RSCI rank: 15; Averaged 27.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals for Brentwood Academy in his last year
Played 5 games at Vanderbilt before injuring his knee - averaged 16/2.6 assists
Drafted 5th with measurements of 6'2 with 6’8” wingspan and 175 lbs
Nick Smith Jr.by comparison
RSCI rank: 3; Averaged 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists for North Little Rock High in his last year
Played 17 games at Arkansas where he averaged 12.5/1.7 assists; but in his first 4 games in December he averaged 16/2 like Garland before managing his knee and sitting out.
Measured 6'5 ’5” with 6’8” wingspan and 185 lbs
It is as if scouts trusted what they saw in Garland in high school and went with their gut. If NSJ sat after 4/5 games he would be in the top five conversation.

What were NSJ’s %s in those four games? Because Garland averaged like 54% from the field and 48% from three. No one would expect him to stay that hot from 3 over the course of the season, but I expect that he was regarded as a very good shooter coming out of high school.

Absolutely. No way on God's green earth we take him at 13. Dude is probably available in the mid second round lol
Zero chance he’d be available in the 2nd round. Just say you don’t know anything about his game, or move on without replying.
I do know about his game and he will be available in the second round if he stays in the draft at all

No, you don't. If he stays in he's a first rounder quite easily.

I've said it before but I think you gotta try to convince george to be a pg. I think his best case scenario happens if he buys in on that and adjust his game because the passing tools are there. Its kinda similar situation to how much better Mitchell looks doing that

Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 5
My dream scenario atm watching few players highlights...
We Scoot at 3, And since we would have our PG slot filled for the future id grab Jordan Hawkins at 13....A backcourt of Scoot/Hawkins with Barnes as the Point Forward would be exciting .... Scoot is a Westbrook/Rose/Morant type and Hawkins reminds me of a Klay Thompson.
;t=&ab_channel=MarchMadness
Just watching this and imaging he is Klay...seems pretty sim...
