I'm not really interested in arguing the semantics of Brown moving two feet inside the 3 point line or not. It's clear you're ok with Smart's decision, even though it didn't work and was a ridiculous shot to be taken given the circumstances.
Yes, I'm completely OK with Smart's decision. It was either correct, or a wholly forgiveable error on a very close call.
I do think Joe could have made a better playcall than one so focused on 3pt opportunities.
Not holding Smart accountable is what enabled him in the first place.
He's not that guy.
A fadeaway 3 with 3 seconds to go down 1 is definitely a terrible shot. But given the awesome outcome, it’s moot to argue about it
I will say rewatching the last couple mins of the game, Smart’s defense on Butler was atrocious, it’s the sort of lackadaisical effort that keep losing close games for us esp when we have the lead.
I’m also not a fan of him rolling the ball up the court with like 5mins left when we have a lead. It’s not basketball, and it screams the playing-not-to-lose mentality.
However, can’t argue with the overall team success we have had in the past few years, and so while I agree he’s not that guy, I do think he’s an important member, a good diversification, though no more special than the other guys on the team…

We're obviously not giving the coach or smart credit for this play.
In fact, only White and Tatum crashed the board while Brown sat like a spectator.
Obviously Miami is taking away Tatum and Brown in this spot, sorry not sorry but the play we ended up with was a disaster. Just like the entire last 4 minutes.
I just thank god that White is the high IQ basketball player Smart thinks he is.
Smart was the only guy on the court (DWhite inbounded) who hit a 3 all game. The other 3 starters were ‘0-for’ from 3 for the game. It was too tough a shot to be sure - but Smart made a great shot and it almost went down.
Wait what? You are claiming a Marcus Smart 3 point shot when you are down 1 is a good shot? Umm yeah. I respectfully disagree.
White was at the 4 second mark, he had to get it in and Marcus was the only guy able to get free (great job Marcus). There was no real time to pass it off if they wanted time to tip a miss, a lesson learnt against Philly. It was not the designed play, but it was the correct play in the circumstance. We're lucky both Marcus and White kept their heads (as did JT trying to get a rebound). Sure luck was involved but sometimes the right play isn't be the designed play due to time constraint.

Rob should have been in over Horford, especially since Horford had the yips last night.
Example: If Rob is the inbounder instead of White, and everything else is the same, then he'd have run straight to the rim rather than setting up in the corner, making a lob-to-Rob realistic, or having an even better chance at the putback if the play unfolded as it actually did. Also, White could have been in the far corner rather than Horford.
Rob was great last night until crunch time. Then he got shaky and was borderline unplayable. Joe was right to give him the quick hook in the fourth.
During our scoreless 4 minutes at end of game, Al had 2 really good plays that didn’t pan out. One was the old man backing it in for a hook shot that hit back rim. The other was a loose ball he actually had but it took a funny bounce right to the Heat.

The NBA should be careful with this rule. Another loophole players can exploit on offense. They're setting a precedent here. If you're not calling a double dribble because it was a "fumble," it should be a travel then right? Offensive players can now fake their fumble so they can take extra steps and create more space.

Smart made a great heads up play. He was screening, then when he saw that White had nobody to pass it in to, he got himself open to receive the pass, then took an immediate deep step back to get off a shot, in time for there to be a rebound. It was a near perfect miracle shot, falling away at the 3 point line and having it go all the way in then spin out. Should have fallen, and we'd all be talking about Marcus instead of White. As it was, Marcus made the play that needed to be made in that instant.

Nice win.
VC goes to White and Brown.
Tatum and Brown were good until the last 6 minutes.
White saved us. Plain and simple.
We scored only 3 baskets in the final 5:30 of the game. Two were by White and one by Smart.
It took a miracle.
Joe coached well.
We need more from Al and Grant.

Amazing, amazing play...
Bird steal is perhaps the most famous play in Celtic history, and it DIDN'T lead to a championship.
Bird's steal was great but....
Henderson's steal saved us from going down 0-2 to the Lakers. We came back to tie the series 1-1 after that steal and went on to win that Finals.

Until the 5 minutes mark
It seems we were not prepared for full court pressure and the 3-2 zone. Offense was stuck to a halt
Also, having Al instead of Rob was a mistake IMO. We play better defense and offense against the zone with Rob

What did Rob do wrong in crunch time?
Started to foul on defense, a fumbled pass, a layup that he rushed and missed. Nothing terrible but he looked shaky when there was little room for error. Not surprising given his lack of minutes relative to other starters.

So basically you're saying Rob's play detiorated partway toward Horford's level?
