NO TRADE Draft poll
Forget the trade scenarios. If the Blazers make a pick at #3, who do you want?
Edited: to fix Miller's name.

Re: NO TRADE Draft poll
Scoot all day. Should have some time behind Dame and can share the court for 10-12 per game as well IMO.
G - Damian Lillard (35) / Scoot Henderson (13)
G - Shadeon Sharpe (30) / Scoot Henderson (13) / Matisse Thybulle (5)
Move Ant. Simple.

Re: NO TRADE Draft poll
Scoot and it’s not really close anymore imo. Starting to be skeptical about Charlotte skipping him for Miller at 2.
If Scoots not at 2, I think the trade value of the pick drops dramatically in that scenario. Could maybe be some of the reason for the leaks of bad Miller interviews? A team trying to get Portland to give up more in a deal for #3 by leaking … “ya know, Scoot could go 2 now”.
That said, from a roster need standpoint, Miller does make sense for Portland as a player that can probably start from day 1 and fill a need if they keep Dame.

Re: NO TRADE Draft poll
Woot for Scoot. Why would Portland draft Jordan when they have Drexler? Why would Portland draft Scoot when they have Dame? Draft the BPA, then sort the roster out after. You don't draft for positional need. You make follow-up trades to address positional needs.

Re: NO TRADE Draft poll
I don't really have an opinion until actual workouts start getting leaked. I think there is a very slight chance both players could end up being the best players in this draft--yeah, better than Wemby.
As for the "bad interview" nonsense--Does this seem like somebody who would interview poorly?' A lot of 'interview tropes' in here, but he seems relaxed and open to me...

Guards that can’t shoot are a problem in todays leave.
Scoot can’t shoot.

Not sure I really get this. Unless we think BPA is neither Scoot nor Miller we wont really be the ones making a decision between Scoot and Miller, we take whomever Charlotte does not and our only decision is whether we keep or trade the pick.

I think that's overstating it slightly. It wont be an elite strength of his but he isn't Ben Simmons out there. He should be able to get to ~35/36% enough to be a threat and open his driving game.

I concur. In the real world, you get what you get. But it's fun to argue. I'm a Miller guy all the way. Love his killer attitude. I wanna see the team trade Dame and figure out what a core or Ant, Shaedon and Miller can do. Going a.level crazier try to trade for Orlando's picks and take Jarace Walker and Dereck Lively II and see how the kids do.

I was just talking in a general sense, not this draft in particular. Obviously some (a lot of) things are out of Portland’s control this year.
If Scoot falls to Portland, they should just take him and not ask him questions. If Charlotte takes Scoot, take Miller and see what deals there are. If nothing, keep him since he’s a fit short and long term if he’s as good as reported.

I hope anyone in the camp of “see how the kids do” are prepared for at minimum 3-4 years of more losing seasons. That’s best case if “the kids” figure it out and his their potential… if they don’t, go ahead and add a few more years.

Gotcha. You did get me thinking about Amen and/or Ausar worth getting a deeper look. Maybe Amen clocks in as being BPA at #3 over Miller we should keep our eyes open. And actually if Ausar is really nearly as good as Amen in terms of ball-handling and vision but with better outside shot and defensive attention that seems like both a well rounded and very high ceiling player.
Gotta get them in a workout in front of our scouts to see, especially with those two and the level of competition they faced. Definitely not a time to get blinders on for anyone in particular.

At least we will see 82 games of effort and improvement.

Scoot reminds me of those classic 80's PG's who took the ball to the basket and appears to be an in your face defender.
He's not going to be a great 3 point shooter but not helpless. His stock might really soar if he can show NBA
teams he can make his open shots.

He is likely a good solid shooting workout away from cementing himself for the #2 pick if he hasn't got it locked already. Athletic kids often don't need to put a ton of work into shooting at lower levels but it doesn't look mechanically unsalvageable or anything.
I look at someone like De'Aaron Fox who was a much worse shooter coming into the league. Granted Fox would be a low-end disappointing outcome for Scoot but he is able to hit almost 33%, just enough to open up his driving game, and showed to be a winning player this year.
