let's hope Masai is one of those people. Though I guess the fact this is being mentioned this way likely means he isn't.

Or it could be that he's listening to all sides and he'll come to a decision at some point this off season.

Still evaluating? Diar Derozan should have made the decision easy.

Whether the FO wants to rebuild or not is irrelevant if ownership won't back it. Something tells me they won't.

It's not complicated... You let GMs know you're listening and you let the caliber of the offers decide for you.

Just listened to the podcast again because on first listen earlier it didn’t sound like much. And this quote sounds like something. But if you listen to the podcast it is him saying that they aren’t sure what the want to do. He did say that there are some who want a full rebuild but also followed that by saying some want status quo. So really there isn’t anything there.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I'm afraid you may be right. They've only had 4 home playoff games in the past 4 seasons (I'm including the play-in). This is an organization that likely grew accustomed to all the extra playoff revenue the Raps brought in the previous 6 years.

This really doesnt give us much if an idea of what the direction is leaning towards, did he speak to some low level workers/interns in the FO, the janitor that cleans sweeps the floor in that FO, or did he speak to the POBO, who is to say. One voice & opinion is far louder than the others though.

All this rebuilding talk when we could have traded to ring someone by Pascal is sad to see.

Gonna get ugly if they trade him.

We have the pieces to compete too. The FO clearly feels they can milk the fan base off the championship

After the way this trash ass season ended it should be a no brainer for the last hold outs. Rebuild this ****, Siakam and Fred top 2 option experiment has went sideways. Time to move on.

This is no different from what Windhorst said a few weeks ago. Again they put themselves in this situation at the trade deadline. They now need to make the hard decision this offseason. You can't stay status quo and put the team in cap purgatory with minimal upside.

all this says is that we are considering a retool ie moving core pieces which I think most of us want. They are not going to move Siakam unless they get the right deal

We traded for Thad last year, Poetltl this year, and our first next year is only top 6 protected. We’re not going full rebound. Masai believes in this core and wants to see how we can maximize their abilities. We just need to shed one core player to remain under the tax. My bet is GTJ is most expendable.

And don't forget about Tampa and all those missed games pre-bubble. We're supposed to believe Bell and Rogers have forgotten about that? Not a chance. These guys hemorrhaged money for a year and a half across multiiple sports franchises. They're only going to agree to pass on playoffs if they have a marketable star that fans will tune in for and we don't have one.

It’s gotta be my guy Dan Tolzman, I knew there was a reason I liked him.

Give Dan some picks and let him cook.

The right move is to hire Jordi. He knows what he's doing more than anyone in our entire organization does and we need his vision and leadership.

He sold me when I heard him say this about "positionless basketball" which the Raps are obsessed with:

"...positionless sounds really good, but a lot of times it gets, you know, misunderstood. You cannot be trying to do too much and at the end you do nothing."

Which to me signifies how he understands that positionless basketball is BS. You need guards with guard skills, wings with wing skills, bigs with big skills. If you can find special athletes for each position fine, but you can't force guys into doing things they struggle at or allow them to attempt it all the while vastly underproducing. They have to be able to achieve the tasks that players at the given position are required to achieve in order to be successful.

Kevin O'Connor has zero sources and just constantly throws s*** at the wall hoping something sticks. He makes up the most rumors and most NBA fans don't call him out on it because they can relate to him because he is a nerd.
