God what a stupid write-up. "He looked great for a young QB last season in limited snaps"....."on the other hand, he looked bad in the one start nearly two years ago so uh....bottom-5 QB projection".

Honestly I think it's fair. I'm fairly optimistic on Love but the reality is we honestly have very little to go on with him so saying you don't know is a fair write up. As for the rankings he's ahead of either rookies(with the exception of Bryce Young who is 1 spot ahead of Love) or just straight up bad QBs and I think that's a fair spot to put him until we see how he does this year

My annoyance is the contract point they make. There is this faction of people that think you should just give extra money away and therefore that proves how much value a player has...or you could just use your contract leverage and pay less to keep more of your other players around.

26. JORDAN LOVE, GREEN BAY PACKERS
Love passed for 9.3 yards per attempt last season and earned a 78.7 PFF grade. On the other hand, he attempted 21 passes and was disastrous the last time he was on the field before that. We have very little idea what Love can become, with the biggest piece of evidence being that the Packers decided it was time to move on from Aaron Rodgers and turn the keys over to his successor. Countering that was the contract they got Love to agree to, which could only have started with the assumption that they were not going to pick up his fifth-year option.

If he plays like the 26th best QB next season the Packers will be in on Maye, Williams, or Penix.

Aaron Rodgers hit #26 QBR on the dot and the Packers still nearly made the playoffs against (theoretically) a tougher schedule last year. I just don't think enough people are acknowledging this. In the rush to ask how effectively Love can replace Rodgers at QB, pundits act like he's trying to replace a typical Rodgers season, as opposed to the poop-show that was Rodgers's final season in GB.

Love could suck and that's a perfectly reasonable take, but what kind of weirdo when evaluating a young QB basically dismisses the most recent small sample size evidence in favor of an equally small sample size (34 attempts) form 17-months ago? It's like yeah, Aaron Rodgers looked awesome in that 2007 Dallas game, but man, he looked like absolute garbage in 2005 OTA's....bottom-5 QB projection for 2008.

To me it didn't read as he was saying the Chiefs Game was more important than the Eagles game but rather stating they've seen both good and bad in what is ultimately a really small sample.

I think he clearly has the arm talent and the fact he has worked with Clements and will be under the same offense for multiple years are both thinks working in his favor. My questions are:

1. Accuracy/decision making
2. The overall youth of the WR/TE rooms

I honestly won’t be shocked if he comes out and lights it up from day 1, but also won’t be surprised with a very slow start due to the pressure he’s under following AR and all the young weapons he’s throwing to needing to learn and adjust.

Either way - I cannot wait to see what happens.

Doubs could be a real breakout guy with Love. I think I had read they have the same trainer and have worked out together for a couple years. Romeo might be his security blanket guy.

I used to yawn at these kind of videos, but I have a little more appreciation after watching Mayfield and Trask yesterday.

I actually take a ton out of this video series about how open MLF scheme gets guys. It is almost like if the QB has enough time on the progressions there is someone there in the open to make a play.

Yeah Love does force it sometimes, but what young QB doesn't? All coachable stuff, seems like loads of talent to work with.

I think he's going to flash some intriguing upside but ultimately will have too many misplaced throws to be a long-term answer at QB.

First year starting QB with this young of a group to throw to, has this ever been done before? Our receivers and TE room is basically expansion team level experienced. Talent is there but experience is also very valuable.
My expectations are very low for this year. Longer term I’m real excited about the progress Jordan’s made. The ball jumps out of his hand.

By all accounts he needed a few years of development and work on his mechanics. Based on everything I have read, his mechanics look sharp, but I expect the one or two cringe throws a game that really needs to be cleaned up. But most young QBs have that problem.

He seems to make most of those dumb throws when the play breaks down and he is trying to make a play as opposed to when he is getting it out in Rhythm

Tyler Brooke does a great film study on him and gets pretty deep and I came away more confident than ever we got a good one. One trait he has that the greats have is poise in the pocket. That plus his arm talent and size is a lot of clay to mold.

Look, it's one game so I don't want to get ahead of myself, but man I feel so good for Jordan Love. He took so much hate after being drafted and none of it was his fault. He was so easy to root for and I'm so happy he came out and wrecked the Bears today. Today was awesome
