It being a trend is certainly overstated considering his relationship with Joel. Kawhi saying he went to the clippers over Lakers due to Rivers, etc. The clippers stuff came from him building a hard nosed culture and adding 2 divas to them, and that team imploded due to George having a breakdown in the bubble. I'd say Harden became a leader of the 76ers locker room and also a diva

I think it was time for Rivers and this team to part ways, but he wasn't the main reason the Sixers lost. Harden in all 4 losses had "impossible to win with" type games. But by the end of the season, rotations were about as good as they could get with this roster, and style of play.... Player to player was good except they had that side agenda of making Joel the MVP. But if Harden is unhappy being a playmaker first, then he really needs to go destroy the rockets rebuild. I'm wholly convinced that the 76ers would be better with a 2 way pg in Harden's place, and running different offense. With the intent of hoping Maxey can become a next level offensive talent less reliant on being setup by Harden. Their (Sixers) only chance with Harden is with him being a 3rd option with better defensive focus... But a trade exception even for Harden would bump Morey up in my eyes as a GM

Paul George and Kawhi blasted him for lack of adjustments after the clippers lost to Denver before the clippers let him go. It’s a trend bro. Harden is gone so don’t worry the Sixers chances will be much better without him. Harden to Houston is the worst kept secret in the nba .Don’t get your hopes up about Houston giving the Sixers the trade exemption. They are under no obligation to do so. They can use that in separate deals to improve their team around harden and the likes of Sengun . They can sign harden outright

Disagree. Harden to Houston is not a foregone conclusion.

Embiid has to be the guy crashing the boards because lord knows he's not going to be able to sprint back on defense every defensive possession. I think there's promise to the Embiid/Reed lineup.

Harden also doesn't really sprint back on defense.

I feel like we need a RoCo type for that type of strategy. A guy that spends a lot of time above the break offensively so that they're in position to get back, and that can stifle a fastbreak with length/getting deflections.

I guess Melton is the closest thing we have to that?

I imagine if Reed is out there he's gonna be one of the guys crashing since it's arguably his biggest strength as a player (at the very least offensively). Particularly since he's probably gonna be in the dunker spot, or if we're lucky, in the corners.

Embiid definitely has the potential to be a terror on the o-boards if he's willing to relinquish some of his on ball usage.

Any info on how long the deal is versus money? Would be interesting to compare it knowing Monty got 72m/6y from the Pistons.

No interest in seeing Josh Harris unless he's being thrown into a volcano

I stick by my stance that Josh Harris is not only a good owner but that he's an excellent owner

Not to say he doesn't want Harden back, but that reporter really forced him into that corner. Those Harden questions were uncomfortable for sure. Ultimately, I think he's coming back, especially after watching this.

Howard doing what Howard does best. Based on the answers and how they were answered, it fit the narrative that I think most have. They want Harden back at a certain price, but Harden wants more money than their willing to offer. It's up to Harden to take the cut to stay or get the bag.

I think Nurse was more afraid of saying anything that might be construed as inappropriate based on Harden’s contract player option. Morey was very careful as well in his presser a few weeks ago for fear he would say the wrong thing before the appropriate time for negotiations to begin. I don’t think it was a lack of Nurse wanting Harden, seemed more like he was being careful with his words to not violate any league/CBA rules.

Overall a pretty bland presser and I’m okay with that.

How bad does Harden want to win? That's the question. He can't possibly think he will in Houston. The fact that he's met with Harden surprises me.

You mean the guy who hired Doc Rivers to a mega deal before he hired a GM? And then hung on to Rivers for years because he had already committed too much money to him? That’s how we’re gonna define excellence?

Exactly. The lowkey final braindead move after so many dumb moves by the "brain trust". Hiring Glenn with a fat 5-year deal BEFORE hiring Morey, which stuck us with him for 3 wasted years.

Joshua doesn't get enough hate for that move.

Same. If Harden to Houston was a "done deal", I don't see why they would even talk.

Also, Windhorst keeps saying to stop assuming Harden is going back to Houston. He seems to be more reliable than Woj at predictions, just doesn’t break news like Woj/Shams do.

Exactly. It’s all guessing game atm without any real substance.
