The thing with people saying "the Heat will shoot better" is that the Heat actually shot better from 3 than the Nuggets did. Sure, you expect the Heat to shoot better, but Porter and Murray also probably won't go a combined 4-18 from 3 again.

The Heat took 12 more 3's which is a big difference. The point differential was generated from the FT discrepancy. Jimmy wasn't aggressive enough tonight. He's their source to get to the stripe. HEAT also just missed a lot of open shots. I think DEN can be even more imposing offensively but Miami can as well.

Agreed, but that's kind of my point. If game 2 plays out basically the same way but both teams hit their shots, the outcome will be same.

Of course, it won't be, as both teams will make some adjustments. Game 2 will really be key. Which adjustments will Miami make (and yes, being more aggressive on offence is a must), and how will Denver counter-adjust?

I think the HEAT probably bring Herro back in game 2 which will provide a new wrinkle in their offense (and new problems for their defense).

Miami heat looks very capable of beating Denver because there has been multiple open looks but heat are missing them. just needs to make their shots. for example when Bulter beats his man off dribble he missed his money shots that he normally made. I don't think Miami should panic now. even if heat are having shooting woes, heat needs to makes stop by playing better defense by not allowing Gordonn to switch on Gabe because that was what killed the heat in the first half

The Nuggets were poorly prepared for that Heat zone. It's an unusual zone that only the Heat play, but they should've been better equipped to handle it.

Game 2 is a lot more Interesting now.

What's the best way to attack their zone? Jokic at the FT line, players cutting inside and on the baseline three? It seems to really slow down the offense of opposing teams.

The worst thing you can do is settle for 3s against this zone imo

Nuggets are normally shooting lights out. You should watch their earlier games before next one.
They are shoting 50%+FG/38%3pts/75%FTs this season.
They've shot 51/30/80 tonight, which is wrose then they normally do.

I agree, the series is not even close to being over. Miami is a great team, this is what they do, they win when no one expect them to do so. They have some room for improvement, Butler has to be more agressive(and then the free throws will come also) and some of their role players will get going like Highsmith did tonight.

However if you expect to win because Nuggets will shoot worse in rest of the series, then you are in trouble...

To be fair, the other guy who needs more love is Curry. His off ball contact with defenders is just nasty and doesn't get nearly enough love because it's off ball.

I've been harping on that for years. Smart teams have figured out that the refs are really reluctant to call off ball contact/fouls in the finals. Half of Curry's finals malaise is because he gets mauled off the ball but no one see it because they aren't looking.

It also makes me laugh out loud over all the people who act like he's this small tiny guy who couldn't cut it in the past when the league had "hand checking". Meanwhile he's body checking 6'9 guys off ball.

Officials shouldn't have a free throw quota. Just call fouls when they happen. If 1 teams fouls 10x more then call it that way. I don't remember any egregious missed calls against Miami.

Butler needs to be the guy to get them to the line, and the way he gets praised like a tier 1 superstar while getting a pass for disappearing in games sometimes multiple games is puzzling. He needs to play better.

I technically pay for cable and I stilled illegally streamed tonight's game despite having the option to watch legally. I rather pride myself on never paying for these things. Heck I have over 200 DVD's and I still just torrent/stream them when I want to watch...it's actually faster than finding the DVD...

Not that they should have gotten 20FT, but 2 is ridiculous.

I might be biased, but I didn't really see any clear-cut bad calls outside of Lowry fouling KCP and they awarded KCP the FTs when it should've been on the ground, he missed both so ball don't lie.

Going into the 4th, the Nuggets had a 42-28 edge in points in the paint. It ended with 46-38. I think you can probably blame Jimmy who was passive and not looking to score, Bam just settled for mid-range floaters (and made them).
