Toronto asks Poeltl if Dallas works, he says yes. Dallas and Toronto agree on who to take at 10 for Toronto. Dallas tells New York to take that player although I’m pretty sure Dallas just makes the pick for themselves since the Brunson trade was a year ago. Free agency comes. Toronto signs Poeltl and trades him to Dallas for the pick + filler. There aren’t any examples of it because it’s not allowed. If teams leaked it they’d get penalized.
Again, this has literally never happened before and there's a good reason for it. 2 party tampering is w/e, 3 party tampering is far too easy to prove. No team has ever completed a S&T for a recent draft pick. We're not gonna be the first, lmao.
